Description: In this enchanted surrounding waves the metal-sign of “Antica Osteria del Falco”, representing a huge and curve-shaped Soup-tureen calling to the mind images of a reinvigorating hot soup, of a sumptuously laid table, of the mother. In the Bottega (shop), a wide and suggestive space talking of quality and ties to the local territory, our guests are welcomed and enraptured by a whirlpool of scents and colours originating from a huge and well cared exposition of fruit, vegetables, salami and cheeses, wines and liquors. The three rooms of the restaurant assure a simple, but cared in every detail, reception. Terracotta floorings, wooden tables and bars, wood beam ceilings offers a feeling of familiarity, almost the impression of coming back home. In summer time it is possible to have meals served in the open-air, thanks to a small, but picturesque, inner courtyard overhung by a luxurious centenarian Wisteria as well as by a Balcony overlooking the village square. The quietness, the lights, the scents in the air during warm summer evenings make dinners served at Antica Osteria del Falco an experience for the senses of great quality and charm. The restaurant is completed by a suggestive wine-cellar, preserving various hundrends of labels of the most renowned and representative wines at local, national and international level. The cuisine at Loncanda del Falco is strictly bound to the gastronomic richness of the local tradition and owns its success to the use of high quality materials, the simplicity of the preparations as well as to the capability of responding to the wishes and preferences of our guests by constantly renewing the menus with new dishes.

This was our Big Night out with our Piacentini friends. They always pick the best places, and this was no exception. Walk into the little fortress, down a street (apartments for rent!?) and not far is the restaurant. It was raining for us, but you can eat outside, and they take reservations.

Antipasti, primi, secondi, dolce for four and a bottle of wine was <€220. Between our friends' and the waiter's decisions, abbiamo mangiato molto molto bene. All typical dishes you'd find at a fancy Piacentini table in a lovely rustic setting.

If you come for lunch, you can walk it off around the castle. Don't think I could make it up into the tower after eating, but it was a lovely wander when we visited just the castle a few years back.

This is a beautiful restaurant in a converted castle in the countryside. We sat in an outdoor courtyard that I would highly recommend. Had the good fortune of being hosted by a local who frequented the place so he did the ordering. They have so many great pastas and we were able to sample four of them. Main courses were excellent as well. As others have mentioned, the store is quite a treat (see photo below).

We were passing by ( 24th July 2012 ) and we had a coffee then walked into the store and i have never seen such a display of food and drink it is a shame but the camera does not capture the moment.

I then said to my wife that with a store like this the food here will be great so we booked a table for the next evening.

We arrived and was greeted with a big smile then taken to our table in the most fabulous castle courtyard , then Chicco came to our table and helped me select a local beer and a red wine from the region both of which where just perfect then he explained in super English the menu and we choose summer salad and sturgeon followed by goose confit with roast potatoes and 2 deserts my wife and i shared the six dishes so we had a nice selection.
The setting is so natural with the 90 year old wisteria and ivy growing on the beautiful old buildings.

We was so happy we went again on our last night and was equally pleased with the whole experiance.

So i thank Chicco and every one else involved in making our holiday so pleasant

The ambiance could not be better, the courtyard of a medieval castle, wisteria, helpful staff. The antipasti are one of their very best parts of the menu, local salami, ham, pancetta, usually accompanied by home made marinated vegetables (peppers, aubergines, fennel, zucchini, cauliflowers). Their pasta dishes are also very good, including local ravioli and the little dumplings made with wheat flower and breadcrumbs in a borlotti beans and light tomato sauce, known as 'pisarei e fasoeu' in the local patois. As a main course I have had an excellent leg of goose confit, and roast potatoes with rosemary and garlic. There roast veal is also good. I have been a few times and not been disappointed, but occasionally I have been annoyed by the lack of written menu, and the rather indifferent dishes that arrived on the table. Maybe it was in the evening, and some of the dishes had been prepared for lunch.

An extremely charming restaurant in the heart of a XV century castello. To reach it, just put 'Gazzzola' in your navigation and any street. When you approach follow the brown signs for Castello di Rivalta. There are 3 or 4 restaurants in the Castello - this one is just next to the church. You should try the local home-made salami and pasta. Trust them to choose your lunch or dinner and you will enjoy it.
