My family and I stayed at Arenal Springs Villas by the Lake-Casa Primera from February 6-10, 2013. I’d like to start by saying that the photos do not express the beauty of Villa Springs and the surrounding area. I was pleasantly surprised. Villa Springs is approximately 45 minutes from the touristy La Fortuna. It is set back in a lovely landscaped acreage where you will find several nicely furnished properties, a pool, and walking path. The nearby town of Nuevo Arenal is approximately 20 minutes and has several good restaurants, grocery, and liquor stores. We discovered an array of bird and wildlife; including monkeys and coati we never imagined to see. The property itself is well maintained by staff that regularly cleans the pool and gardens. Our lodging- Casa Primera, was furnished with whimsical carved wood furniture, outdoor patio, and upbeat artwork, as well as all the comforts of home including; cable television, internet wi-fi, dishes, coffee machine, washing machine, and hairdryer. The house is impeccably clean. A maid visited us during our stay providing us with clean towels and picking up after us three days a week. Tom and Maria, the hosts, are very friendly and helped us book tours and navigate the winding roads of Costa Rica. You can easily get tours at this location or drive your rental car. In comparison with some of the hotels we looked into the rates are great values, especially when you consider all the amenities. Arenal Springs has beautiful landscapes, and tranquility. I will return!
