My wife and I started planning a two week Costa Rica trip clear back in March. We knew we were going to the Arenal region and when we read reviews on the restaurants, we knew Gingerbread would be our destination. Waiting four months just added to the anticipation. No disappointment in this dining experience. Eyal, Beth, the wait staff, guests (including Luke) were an important part of the great ambiance. Food was exceptional! The mushroom appetizer with garlic toast was wonderful. The heart of palm and avocado salad was wonderful. The entree, mahi mahi and fettucine in a lemon caper sauce with a variety of vegetables, including brussel sprouts, was wonderful. Highly recommend. The overall price was high, but the portions were very large, enough for two or more. We took home leftovers, and they were very good the next day. Can't wait for our next trip to Arenal and a great experience at the Gingerbread, so named because of the trim color of the paint on the exterior of the building. :)
