“Great Place For a Couple”

This place is charming, delightful, friendly and comfortable the perfect little hotel if there ever was one.A superb staff, treated us as friends. If you looking for quiet relaxation and sheer chillin this is the place, the rooms are simple but perfectly comfortable, clean, quiet and charming. The place was kept spotless by the staff and it was a pleasure coming back "home" after a hot and hectic day exploring the island to cool off in the pool.
Linda and Paul are special people and their knowledge of the local attractions helped us to find some very special places,
which made this our anniversary trip an amazing memory.
We found we did not need any lunch after the sumptous breakfasts feast, the dinners were equally fabulous, Paul is an excellent chef.

Got in late at night, with my family, four adults, five kids, The rooms were clean, but there was no kitchen and you had to pay an additional daily fee for the use of a microwave. A few bugs were present but bug spray took care of that.
The friendliest of the staff, owners included was the family pet, Rosco, The maid attempted to discipline one of my kids after she fell on a plant, not a special plant by the way but a local wild plant. The next day the cushions from the chairs were removed from my room, and when I asked about it along with the rude comments and actions of the maid the owner was just as ridiculous with her attitude and answers, not to mention the maid found it ok to speak to me in the most disrespectful manner in front of the owner, proving that this was fine.
Overall, I felt like I was treated differently because My family is originally from the island, the other guests were not treated this way especially the ones with the same ethnicity as the owner, and this is definitely not a kid friendly establishment.

Stayed at the Hummingbird in July 06 with a couple of friends. Paul and Linda were great - their knowledge of the island led us to places we may not otherwise have found. A full 'fry up' every morning set us up for the day, and Paul's Sunday Roast - and on another occasion lasagne, were to die for!

Rooms were comfortable, mini bar well stocked (and decently priced), and a warm shower at the end of an exhausting day lying on the beach was just what the doctor ordered!

If I ever venture back to Tobago I wouldn't hesitate to book my accommodation at the Hummingbird!

We booked our trip to tobago very last minute with less than a weeks notice and found linda and paul at the hummingbird very helpful and accomodating from the word go.

After a very long flight with delays we arrived at midnight very tired and were pleased with the hotel and our room. The room was always cleaned perfectly, big enough and was just what we needed, the bathroom had a large shower and was also very clean, we had a wardrobe and a fridge with a minibar which came in very handy.

The stay was excellent value for money and we throughly recommend Paul's cooking. Paul and Linda were very good to us and always nice to chat to giving us lots of advice and useful information whenever we were around. There was always one of them around when we needed something, they were always friendly and approachable. They also organised a tour of the island and turtle watching tour with their local tourguide Simon. We throughly enjoyed these and saw some great sights, Simon was also a great guy who was very flexible and informative.

Its such a beautiful island so try and see the most of it while you are there. Its about a ten minute walk to the beach and it gets very hot very early so make sure you put on plenty of sun tan lotion before you leave the hotel, we learnt this the hard way after getting burnt on our first trip out! We went in rainy season but dont be put off as the rain was a relief from the heat and showers were very short and did not disrupt our holiday. We would love to go back to tobago and would really like to stay at the hummingbird again, it was a lovely family run place with a very friendly atmosphere. Many thanks to Paul and Linda for helping to make our trip so memorable and enjoyable. We reccomend the humming bird to anyone thinking of going to tobago.

Was treated as if we were an inconvenience upon check in. All questions we asked such as when breakfast was, was answered with a sigh and then a quick answer. The rooms tiny, but obviously were equal to the price they charge. Even upon check out small talk was tried to be made about their dog and the conversation was no nonsense NO personality. Will NOT be goig back anytime soon.
