“Fantastic”
Reviewed April 6, 2008

Just had two weeks at this hotel and have had the best holiday ever! It is such a relaxing place, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are really good, the hotel grounds are amazing, the food is fantastic and the staff were brilliant, what more can i say!! We will definately be going again. My youngest son (12) and my husband both completed their Padi diving course whilst staying here, there is a dive school on the beach at the hotel so if you want to do some diving, this is the best place.

The recent reviews are most accurate and I can recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing experience in a top class carribean hotel.
My family ( 2 adults, 2 children 8+9 ) visited over the Easter period for 1 week and although the hotel was full and the staff very busy we received excellent service.
The all inclusive package is a must and the food in both restaurants is of a very good standard. Tamaras is best for the evening,7.00pm dining was ideal for us with children. The dress code was not onerous and maintained a quality which was appreciated. If you have a problem putting on a short sleeve shirt and long trousers for dinner then perhaps you should stick to Benidorm!!!
The beach was clean and tidy with plenty of sun beds for everyone.
We booked a 1 bedroom seaview suite which was kept scrupulously clean by an attentive maid and the air conditioning worked well and not noisy. The suite was in fact 2 interconnecting rooms which was ideal for a family of 4.
One issue was the quality of the nightime entertainment which although fun was a bit repetitive and noisy for those trying to get to sleep. It finished around 10.30pm though and therefore was not too much of an issue.
In summary a top quality carribbean hotel full of personal touches to make you feel special. I wish the Coco Reef continued success.

My wife and myself plus two friends have just returned from Coco Reef where we have spent yet another wonderful two weeks.Coco Reef is wonderfully located on the Caribbean sands and has its own lagoon suitable for all ages and swimming abilities - the numbers of fish are amazing with these being able to be fed by hand.
The accommodation is excellent - we chose to stay in a deluxe ocean view appartment - with the grounds and gardens kept to an immaculate standard. The food is first class with choices available to suit all tastes - we stayed fully inclusive so that there was always a BBQ available whilst in the evening we chose to eat in the more formal atmosphere of the restaurant - Tamaras - where the food is absolutely 5+ star.
Location, grounds, accommodation, food can all be created but where Coco Reef excels is the staff. Without exception every member of staff - room maids to the General Manager - cannot do enough for their guests. This is no exaggeration - we are reasonably well travelled and there has been no where that can get near the level of professionalism , whilst retaining friendliness, that the staff of Coco Reef attains.
Our two weeks were great - we will be back next year . For a totally relaxing, stress free holiday there cannot be anywhere better.Even Charles and Camilla " popped in " for a couple of hours to say hello to the guests - we, however, felt like royalty for the whole two weeks !
Once at Coco Reef, if you can drag yourself away for a few hours, then do book a trip on the Speed/Power Boat - Cocomotion - where Marlon will take you to numerous secluded beaches for sun bathing/snorkelling. A great local family man who cannot do enough for his clients.

It may have been over a year ago since i visited this hotel but i do feel i have to review.
The hotel was simply fantastic. On arriving at the airport i have to say it was a slight culture shock (very small and basic) but neverthe less we piled into a taxi expecting a 10minute drive to the hotel. We were in the car for less than 2 mintues as the hotel was just round the corner from the airport.
On checking in we were greeted with complimentary coctails and shown to our room nearly straight away. The room it self was big, fully air conditioned and clean. They left a nice message out of palm tree leaves on the bed to welcome us, which i always think is a nice touch.
The beach was lovely. Because the hotel had it's own private beach it was very quiet and ot over crowded.
If you are a water sport fan or fancy leaving the hotel i can fully recommend 'pigeon point'. This to me was one of the highlights of the hoiday. A friend and i went waterskiing there, in a small lagoon. We were the only ones on a rather big boat and had the instructor completly to our selves. If you do fancy water sport ask for 'Ricky' as he really was a fantastic instuructor.
Another thing we did on Tobago was a tour of the island and a rainforest visit. Again, if you get bored in the hotel i would recommend this as the tour was interesting and a nice change of scenery.
The food at the hotel was good, if not expensive. I would really recommend going all inclusive at this hotel, as we were not. And although we had some fantastic meals out, it was a bit of a hassle with drinks and snacks in the hotel as the majority of guests were all inclusive.
The staff were always pleasent and there to help. They would come round with flowers for your hair, fresh fruit and drinks while you were sat on the beach.
The entertainment was the down side. I have to say it was ever so slightly cringy as the Bob Marley tributes played as you drank pre-dinner drinks. But entertainment at hotels is never going to be brilliant.
Overall i think this was a fantastic hotel and i would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This is a beautiful hotel with an elegant drive to approach the property. The reception area, rooms, restaurant etc are very clean and comfortable. The food in the main restaurant and beach bar (slightly understated as it is just like a restaurant on the beach) are very good with a lot of choice, including a grill at the beach bar. The drinks are all premium with an excellent choice.
However we had come from a small hotel in St Lucia called The Rendzvous which is very friendly and relaxing. At the Coco Reef with the exception of one or two staff we found it very difficult to strike up a relationship with the staff, they were all very careful not to become too familar. One girl asked me not to report her as she had forgotten an ashtray I had asked for! As if I would, but a lot of the guests are colonial types and tend to stick together and look through you, a lot are repeaters. The manager is present but tends to say Good Morning, Good Night on an automatic basic rather than look at the person he is talking to.The staff on a whole are quite cool and we found this strange after St Lucia. There isn't a lot to do in Tobago, a tour around the island of 27 x 7 miles takes all day and is bend after bend up and down dale as you can imagine, there is a bird sanctuary and the rain forest and a few local shops. Pigeon Point is a beautiful beach next to the hotel but it takes about an hour to walk to via the roads. This is not a shoppers paradise but lovely for a relaxing week on the beach (service with drinks, fresh fruit, water etc) but I won't return.

Whilst the first impression of Tobago at the airport is a bit of a shock , 5 minutes later you are inside a beautiful manicured park and driving through palm trees to arrive at the reception.

The first impression here is one of complete relaxation with views of the white beach and caribbean sea. The rooms are good quality and have a welcome message written in flower petals on the bed. A minus point was the welcome cocktail which was a mixed smoothie - maybe not everybodys taste. The only word regarding room selection is to ask for the one's in the centre sections as dogs barking in adjoining properties upset the otherwise relaxing holiday experience for some guests.

The restaurants provide excellent menus and we found the food at either, whether for lunch or dinner catered for every taste. Our preference was for lunch at the beach restaurant where the fish or steak bbq's were delicious. For dinner we alternated with Tamara's where the head chef has created a very wide selection. He also has a great sense of humour with his art, describing in the menus dishes as "mesmerized by", "influenced with", "surrounded by" etc.

Every night there was superbly professional entertainment and dancing, should you feel the urge.

The beach is magnificent, with very safe bathing, water sports for those more energetic or just wading in waist high parts of the lagoon surrounded by "nemo" and other colourful fish. Just when you feel a rum punch or fruit cocktail coming on, low and behold it arrives at your sun lounger served, if by magic, delivered by some charming staff members. In fact everyone from the lady who freshly prepares your morning egg of every variety, "morning my dear!" she says with a smile, all the staff are efficient and friendly.

Outside the Hotel, a short walk provides an ATM machine, a couple of other restaurants and a wonderful batique shop. An hour's walk into Pidgeon Point will provide you with a sighting of at least 12 birds you have never seen before. Other must's, hire a driver for a day to see the island, ours was called "Zorro" and sang calypso to us throughout the day. The rain forest is a must, as is a day sail or a party on a 44 foot catamaran.

This was our first all inclusive holiday and we will do it again, interspersed with villa holidays. One week per island would be our choice and Coco Reef on Tobago would be a must for one of them.

We have just returned from what we can only describe as a probably the best holiday we have ever had. There were 4 adults in our party and from day 1 the hotel and its staff were on hand 24/7 to assist us with anything we wanted. Eric the Manager was on site every day and spent time chatting to holiday makers about their stay.It was a lovely gesture when he bought his daughter Jade to meet us. He was very friendly and the courtesy champagne was a real treat!!! The rooms were exceptionally clean all the time. Food was fantastic in both restaurants. The beach waitors were very efficient. Our other highlight was Prince Charles and Camilla arriving for a conference on our last day which brought our holiday to a real high. We would definitely come to this place again. Congratulations to Eric and his staff!!!
