The guys running the hotel (Lawrence and Antonio) were superb. We felt like part of their family. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is not a 5 star and has no pool but who needs a pool when the hotel is on the waters edge. The beautiful Pigeon point heritage park is only 100 yards away.
Superior ocean view rooms had the most amazing views and you can watch the sunset every night.
Breakfast's superb, menu meals excellent value for money and bar prices were reasonable.

When we return to Tobago, we will definitely stay there again. No contest...

waste of time. not clean has a lot of potential but an effort needs to be made..serious. There are too much stray animals around a dog actually peed on the chair when I was walking in for breakfast one morning, I was not expecting the Hilton but....seriously is it a hotel or an animal hostel? I'm not even gonna start on the wait staff...cause they need worm medicine, they got two speeds 1. dead slow and 2 stop!

We stayed for five nights in Conrado Beach Resort. The location of the hotel is perfect - it is located directly on the beach. It is about 10 minutes walking distance from Store Bay Beach and Pigeon Point Beach, it is also ten minutes away from several eating places.
We loved the breakfast (tea, coffee, juice, toasts, bake, fried fish, scrammbled eggs with bacon, fresh fruit) in Conrado - freshly cooked every morning and included in room rate. It is served on the terrace. The restaurant is good but a little too expensive for every day dining so we went to dine out. The rum punch is heavenly good.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
We didn't have the seaview room but as the family vacations are not for staying in the room we were very satisfied.
We really loved Tobago and our stay in Conrado.

The Conrado Beach Resort itself is nothing special, but its location is. It's hard to find a reasonably-priced place to stay right on the beach on Tobago, and the Conrado provides. The rooms are tired and small, but painted in bright colors and with air conditioning frigid enough to help you forget about the stifling heat and mosquitoes outside. The included breakfast is greasy, salty and satisfying. The staff is helpful, and usually smiling. We stayed in the deluxe rooms with spacious balconies upstairs, and they were worth the $15 upgrade cost (around $130/night).

The Conrado is right down the road from Pigeon Point, one of the nicest beaches on Trinidad (it's private, and costs about $3 to enter) - the walk from the Conrado is 5 - 10 minutes. The beach right outside the Conrado is pretty, with good, soft, white sand, but not great for swimming due to seaweed and rocks. When the tide is in, there's not really a beach.

Car rentals on Tobago are pretty cheap, and it's worth renting for a day or two to check out the northern part of the island - the beaches aren't quite as nice, but they're more secluded and very pretty in their more rugged way. Staying in a villa is also a great idea if you're with a group large enough to make it cost-effective (6 - 8 people or more). But the Conrado is a nice option for getting to know the more developed southern end of Tobago, and much cheaper than most of the similar options.

Room Tip: upgrade to balcony!

As the local taxi driver pointed out this is really a B&B and not a hotel. If you go with no expectations you will find the staff welcoming and very pleasant. No point going unless you have a first floor beach view room. This really made the location for us. see our photos of the sunsets on the balcony. We had read that the locals cut up fish and the place stank but we loved watching the locals come home with their catch at the end of the day it really made you appreciate the location and their way of life.
Pigeon Point entrance is within a stones throw. You have to pay to go on this beach but you can get a weekly pass, when you get there make sure you go to the bar its fantastic! Cocktails, food, location and service are second to none. Just relax and enjoy! The beach outside the hotel isnt really for swimming so make sure you take a 10 min stroll through Pigeon Point to find your spot. We were told if we went out at night to get a taxi home which we did and we didnt experience any problems. If you like windsurfing and you are going to use the hire facilities available at Pigeon Point then this is the place for you. Enjoy!

Room Tip: request a first floor beach view room with balcony

I went to the Conrado in October 2010 , its the first time i have been in this part of the world , the staff were really helpful and friendly , the food was delicious and the rooms were very clean , i loved my stay there , my favourite thing in the evening was to relax on the veranda with a drink and watch the sun go down , the most beautiful beach is only 5 minutes along the road and its paradise , we were not hassled by the locals in any way and everyone was friendly , i would certainly recommend this hotel and irs friendly staff , i will certainly be back this year for another holiday .

Me and my husband stayed for 7 nights and were very pleased. Staff is friendly, food in restaurant good and reasonably priced, the generous breakfast included was cooked for you on demand. Location is fabulous right on the beach, a 10-minute walk from the Pigeon Point and Store Bay beaches, as well as the restaurants/bars of Crown Point. We stayed in a superior ocean front room which had a lovely balcony (with sundbeds) from which we could enjoy amazing sunsets. Rooms are basic but good and functional, maybe the cleaning could shape up a little, e.g. a couple of days we didn´t get any towels. Free wireless internet worked very well in room, a treat. We really recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing experience without luxury demands.
