located at the entrance of the town -that means you need a 15 mn walk to the center-offers grate view. you can sleep until late since it faces west therefor the sun will not enter the room before noon. very helpgull personel, poor selections of breakfast, enough quantity. good value for money. would stay there again.

Room Tip: all rooms with excellent view

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning of June 2013. The hotel is situated at the top of the hill on the main road from Kalamata into Pylos and it's really worth the walk up (which seemed to get easier each time we did it!). The views over the Bay of Navarino are stunning. We stayed in the new block and the room was large, comfortable and clean with a kitchenette and a decidedly modern, un-Greek bathroom (plugs in the handbasin! A non-leaking shower!). There was a very large balcony with comfortable seating - an ideal spot to soak up the views. Breakfast was excellent. The restaurant served a very good traditional menu at reasonable cost and as vegetarians we ate here twice in a four night stay with no difficulty. The hotel is not really suitable for people with any mobility problems - there are no lifts and it's built into the side of the hill so is necessarily terraced. It's family run - Nikos and his wife and sister - and their pride in it shows. Highly recommended.

Blue sky, magnificent blue sea edged by islands. What a place! We stayed here with our family in rooms with balconies and sea views. The hotel is on the top of the hill leading into Pylos and the views over the Bay of Navarino are extensive. The only quibble we had was that there was no lift up to our floor and the stairs were hard work for us two 70 year olds. The room was excellent and we slept well. Breakfast was a little expensive at €8 but there are some wonderful bakeries in the town. We dined on locally caught fish in one of the quay side restaurants. Pylos is a fascinating place

We stayed in this wonderful facility for 2 days. The location and the view absolutely spectacular. The standards of cleanliness were very high. The staff were hard working, very polite and very helpful. The restaurant was very well managed and the menu and the quality of the meals was of the highest standards. Overall very good value for money. Strongly recommended to visitors of the historical Greek town of Pylos ( the castles of Methoni and Koroni and the ancient palace of Nestor are within driving distance).

We have stayed in a lot of hotels & for us this was just about perfect. Very friendly owners, Lista & Nikos who made us feel so welcome & looked after us with some pretty good food. Apart from lunch we ate at the hotel. Breakfast was also great & all the time there is the fantastic view of Navarino Bay. Everything worked in the nice modern room with a balcony overlooking the bay. It's an easy 4 hours with a hire car from Athens. Pylos is a nice little town & the surounding country side & coast stunning.Voidokilia beach is not to be missed.

Room Tip: Contact Lista & Nikos

From its cliff-top location Hotel Philip has fanstastc views over Navarino Bay, enjoyed by all (I think) of the rooms from their balconies. Rooms are spacious, modern, well appointed with - o joy - a soft bed! Our room (106 I think) had a balcony with a shade-giving roof and a mini-kitchen so we could enjoy an informal cup of tea on returning after our day out.
Breakfast was good, served at table, with hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, as well as bread and conserves, with freshly squeezed juice, tea, coffee...
The parking place is across the road on a bend, so care needed when crossing. Traffic died away at night, so no problem with noise.
The hotel also has a restaurant, but we prefered to stroll into town - about 12 minutes walk going down (you can short-cut the hairpins on foot).

Room Tip: If you are there in the heat of the summer, ask for one of the rooms with a roof over the terrace fo...

Our family (3 people) chose this hotel based on other positive reviews - we were not disappointed! This multi-level hillside establishment has great views (makes one say Wow!) across a quiet road of a large natural bay with mountains coming down to the water. There is ample parking in a gravel lot on the other side of the road. Attractive flowered gardens on terraces lead up the steps to the entrance. Our simply-furnished room had cooking facilities (not used by us) and was reasonably spacious as well as clean and very comfortable. It had a small but delightful veranda to watch the ocean at sunset and afterward the starlit sky. The staff were very friendly and breakfast (optional extra) was very pleasant and excellent value. It is a few kilometers to the town, so a car (or lots of energy) is probably essential for a stay here.
