“Quite , calm and a 10 minute drave from Segovia”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

This last trip I decided to stay just 10 kms away from Segovia at El Rancho de la Aldehuela. It is part of a wider property including shops, restaurante and a lower end hotel, La Posada. Rooms are huge, nicely decorated and some of them include a wide terrace with country views. Prices are more than reasonable and breakfast is incliuded. The restaurant is OK, serving roasted lamb and pig. Just make sure that you get a table in the frst dining room: the rear one is usually full of uncontrolled todlers. Breakfast is powerfull. The lobby floor bar is a nice venue to have a late gin&tonic after dinner. The surrounding areas include a nice village (Sotosalbos) with an excellent romanesque church including a small museum which is worth a visit.

We had a great week enjoying great food and superb conference facility. The rooms was spacious but the walls was thin and you could here some noise next door.
The quality of the food was great and plentiful and you could taste the fruit in the house wine.
The suckling pig was cooked to perfection.
The individual salads was too big and always contained the same basic things, tomatoes, lettuce etc. a bit boring
The settings and gardens are great to relax in. I did not like all the plastic flowers around the hotel but thats my personal preference.
The staff was very helpful and the rooms was well serviced.
Ideal location to visit Segovia,a 15 minutes drive away

Room Tip: Rooms in the main builings are larger with phones in the toilets but all rooms are very good

....personal space to relax in within the very well appointed room, as well as a quiet garden area just outside (i did have a ground floor room). Plenty of walks within the area, though the thinner air (mountainous region) was a bit of a problem for me. The food was good, though some of the portions were daunting, with an emphasis on Spanish dishes rather than the oft offered 'anglicized' ones. Staff were friendly and helpful, most with a smattering, or more, of English. Very little in the 'town', but the hotel complex provided for all needs. Would stay there again.

This hotel deserves its 4 stars. The rooms are lovely and large with a separate seating area. The food at lunch and dinner was of high quality (with very large portions) and the infinity swimming pool (11am to 8pm - 1 July to 'end of Summer') has stunning views over the surrounding countryside.

The grounds are very well kept and lush.

The only negative is that breakfast was eaten in a cramped 'corridor' like environment and there was not a great variety of food especially prepared fresh fruit. The choice of venue for breakfast seems strange as there are extensive eating areas that remained unused.

I was here as part of the Vaughan Town language immersion programme for Spaniards.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have far reaching views and face west. Rooms facing the courtyard are a little dar...

I volunteer through the Vaughan Syaytems and did not expect the exception accomodations at the El Rancho. The room were a nice size with sitting area, large desk, TV, free Wi-Fi and wonderful resturants for dining. There are also a fews small shops on the premises for buying gifts to take home. Within walking distance (2-5 mins) a market, bank, bar and gym. I found the town of Torrescaballeros charming, modern and very clean. It is very close to the town of Segovia, which is bursting with old world charm. If you would like to escape the hustle and bustle of a big city the El Rancho is a wonderful place to recharge and enjoy a very relaxing atmosphere.

Room Tip: I liked being on the the second floor. The small balcony allowed me to open my balcony door during t...
