“Friendly and helpful staff, but this hotel has serious shortcomings.”
Reviewed November 5, 2011

The first thing to say is that there are some positive things about this hotel - it is very close to the airport (about 2 minutes in a taxi or on the hotel's shuttle bus), the receptionist was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about how to get into Valencia itself, and the staff behind the bar were also very friendly. However, this hotel also has some serious shortcomings and I would not use it again.

- There is an issue with cleanliness - the bin in my room had not been emptied, and was full to the brim with other peoples rubbish, including what seemed to be some female sanitary items. This is unacceptable and unhygienic.

- In the evenings, there is no food served until 20:00. Although I accept that this is a cultural characteristic of Spain, in an Airport hotel there needs to be more flexibility than this to cater for people coming and going at all times of the day. The only food they can do before 20:00 is a ham and cheese sandwich and a bag of crisps in the bar.

- The area is industrial and scruffy, and feels not exactly 'unsafe' but certainly you wouldn't want to walk by yourself at night. From the outside the hotel looks very shabby. There is nowhere locally to eat. There is a supermarket near the Travelodge / 'Rosas' Metro Station but this is a 5-10 minute walk through an industrial area. Take care because the pavements are often blocked with cars so it is necessary to walk on the road itself.

- The hotel shuttle bus took 25 minutes to arrive to pick us up from the airport after we called for it.

- Rooms are on the small side. The air conditioning was poor. We stayed in November, it was only 18 degrees outside but several of our party found the rooms far too hot with the air conditioning on full. Opening the windows was not an option because of airport noise, traffic on the busy road outside and the fact that a number of rooms open out onto a communal courtyard/bar area. If the rooms were too hot in the Winter I dread to think what they would be like in the Summer.

On the whole this is just about an acceptable hotel, but I would consider the Travelodge which is next to the Metro Station and supermarket and only another couple of minutes away from the airport.

We chose this hotel for the convenience to the Valencia airport and our morning flight to Palma. Check-in was efficient. Room was very nice. Snack food was available in the bar mid afternoon. Breakfast was a little pricey (14E), but was a very nice buffet with just about everything, so still a good value. Would definitely use this hotel again if flying out of the Valencia airport.

If you look for a good accomodation in close vicinity of the Valencia airport, this is your place - even plane crews sleep there. The surroundings are not the nicest though; however the rooms are very nicely appointed and even the standard "tryp" rooms exceeded my expectations. There is a free shuttle to/from the airport leaving every 30 minutes (pickup needs to be pre-arranged though), metro station is some 5mins.walk away. Internet comes at an extra charge, however 6,-EUR for 12 hours of connection time (!) are still reasonable. Breakfast is also quite varied, with both continental and cooked options. Other accomodation options in the vicinity of the airport (and closer to metro) are Ibis and soon-to-be-completed Travelodge, however Tryp betas them by far as regards accomodation quality.

Only stayed one night, for an early morning departure next day. Reception staff were very efficient and extremely helpful. Room was modern; spacious; and bed was very comfortable. Conveniently located, a few minutes from the metro. Experience better than I had expected for an airport hotel.

Chose and booked this hotel on an internet website so that we could be close to the Valencia Airport for an early morning departure.
Check-in was easy, our room was comfortable and nicely furnished. The outside of the hotel doesn't give you a hint as to how nice the rooms are. Although we arrived well before normal check-in time, there was no problem getting into our room. The Tryp provides a free airport shuttle which runs regularly. The hotel is directly across from the Airport (very busy highway, not walkable), so you really only need to allow 5 minutes to get there for flight check-in. We really experienced NO noise from the airport, even with our room window facing the runway -- of course, it is not an enormous airport!
There is a nice -- very small -- swimming pool at the hotel, although we didn't use it during our short stay.
Since we were leaving very early the next morning, we booked the room without the breakfast option (we left before breakfast was even open!). They did provide free early morning coffee and danish at the reception area.
Internet was available, but not free. Since we returned our rental car (right next to the hotel), we didn't need to make use of the free garage parking. There is NOTHING within walking distance of the hotel -- restaurants, shopping or anything else.
The Tryp Azafata served our purpose and provided a comfortable stay.

Also theres loads of supermarkets nearby that are handy. We went to the holets resteraunt which was really nice, abit expensive and posh tho!! the rooms were nice, comfy beds and great showers. the pool area is small but we never saw aybody else there! The gym is again small but good equiptment, 2 bikes, a running machine & multi gym. The breakfast had lots to choose from, plenty of fresh fruit, eggs, cheese etc. all tasted nice aswell was really impressed.
