We both loved it, mine was a bit spacey as I chose the chilly one, but overall a fantastic mountain meal after a hard day of skiing.

After all the great reviews we tried the restaurant. I had the soy pork ramen and the wife had the miso ramen. Unfortunately we were disappointed.

If its your first ramen you would think it was ok, but just compare it to other nearby ramen places and you'll taste the difference. we found the food was overly salty and the noodles were a bit rubbery.

It's a shame because the restaurant is very well located and have staff that speak very good English.

For better ramen try the mountain lodge half way down the run from the top of the gondola or the lodge at the bottom of hanzano. (Although you'll need to ski to both!)

After the disappointing Big Ship, we went in search for the rest of our dinner, trying our luck at Niseko Ramen, which was closed the previous night. We were lucky and didn't have to wait for a seat. This is new in Hirafu, the original having been in Kutchan and I was keen to try it out having read about it in one or two Niseko food guides and here in TA.

Decor and seating are functional. Service is fast and friendly, and geared towards foreign visitors. I had the shio ramen, while the boys tried the spicy (normal) and the Niseko Ramen special, which was like ramen in Vichyssoise. The shio ramen absolutely hit the spot, the broth being perfectly balanced and satisfying. The spicy ramen was pretty spicy and a bit overpowering. The special looked a bit suspect to me on the menu, but it worked surprisingly well in the mouth. Can't find the bill - must have paid in cash. I must say that mine was the most enjoyable bowl of ramen I have had - nothing flash, but everything just right. It restored satisfaction to the correct level.

After exploring all of what Niseko has to offer Ramen wise this was by far the best choice. Great range of Ramen from salt to miso and even a Potato Ramen which is just so damn good! Great prices and fantastic service! Highly recomended!

This place is great. They have very good ramen for a very reasonable price. It's also a great place to get warm after boarding. The staff speaks great English. Food is fantastic.
