We went here for NYE. Good steak, amazing caesar salad, and yummy local ingredient soups. The garlic bread was amazing too! $$$

Thumbs up!
Fantastic quality of meat.
Any kind from Hokkaido's best to the selection of wagyu and Kobe.
All served on hot plate so that the meat is done just as perfect as your own preference.
We brought kids who were equally impressed.
The side dishes were not disappointing either - the sashimi salads and Hokkaido potato fries were wiped clean.
The selection of wines are pretty good to enhance the dinner.
We are definitely going again!

If you want a western meal, Rosso Rosso offers excellent steaks and the salad is also worth a mention! Near to some good bars (e.g. Fridge Bar). Recommend booking in advance.

As the name suggests, this is a place for steaks. I opted for an appetizer of asparagus spring rolls and a Hokkaido sirloin steak, which arrived, as all the steaks do, on a hot plate. There was a thick iron disc about 2 inches in diametre resting on the side of the hot plate, the purpose of which we couldn't work out, until we realised this was to further cook individual mouthfuls. The disc remains searing hot after the plate itself has cooled. It is advisable to order the steaks a bit less cooked than you would normally and finish them off yourself if needed.

Quality of the food was pretty good, although there were no "ooos" or "aahs" from our party. Perhaps we are getting too picky in our old ages, because the steaks were nice pieces of meat.

I scored this place with four points, because it does what it does well and there are no complaints. With a little further effort to achieve that "wow" factor, it would reach five.

This place is a bit tricky to find, being tucked away down a small back street. Once you find it, the building itself is easy to spot. We thought negotiating the hill in our 4x4 with a foot and a half of snow on the road was challenging enough, until the next guests arrived in a 2 wheel drive taxi!
I wouldn't recommend walking, unless you know where it is.
