“New location is even better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Kamimura-san moved to his new gorgeous digs in the in Shiki building. High ceilings, wall height windows with views of Mt Yotei, and a cozy modern warm dining room. You cannot ask for more in a ski resort town.

Mr. and Mrs Kamimura still take painstaking effort to make sure everything coming out of the kitchen is quality guaranteed. The food is...great. Taking advantage of the natural bounty of Hokkaido, Kamimura-san has continued to refine the menu, keeping many of the well known standards, while modifying and adding where it makes sense. His famous Hokkaido scallop dish is a piece of heaven.

You need to have enough time to enjoy the tasting menu. 3 hours would work well. As skiing is tiring on the body, and with an indulgent meal in a cozy restaurant like Kamimura's, it would be best to pace yourself on the wine to make sure your face doesn't end up in the beautiful dessert, by the time those plates arrive.

“Foodies Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

KAMIMURA - the iconic Michelin-starred French restaurant, defines exquisite dining in Niseko. Its intimate, elegant ambience together with stylish interiors offers guests a truly special experience.

An intricate fusion of East meets West, they offer an array of degustation menus. These menus and this style of dining allow guests to experience a wide range of flavours with a delicate balance of fresh vegetables, meats and seafood.

Yuichi Kamimura was born in Hokkaido in 1975 and spent his formative years in the bustling environment of his parents' restaurant. This experience had a profound effect on the young Yuichi and it was here that his passion for food was first kindled.
In 2000 he met renowned chef Tetsuya Wakuda in Sydney and became fascinated by both Testuya's culinary philosophy and proficiency. He became Tetsuya's apprentice and spent the next five years working alongside him.
Yuichi returned to Hokkaido and opened a successful restaurant in Sapporo before relocating to Niseko in December 2007 to establish KAMIMURA. Moving to Niskeo caused Yuichi to reflect on the relationship between Hokkaido's pristine natural environment and exquisite cuisine. He continues to take great inspiration from the area that he has made his home and is proud to showcase the passion and devotion of the region's farmers, fishermen and producers through his degustation menus.
Yuichi has been invited to appear as a guest chef in a number of countries including Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This has enabled him to work with prominent chefs from different cultures and explore an even more diverse range of flavours and cuisines.

“Lovely meal wonderful staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

Ate here with my grown up children in February. My son had been working in Niseko and wanted to treat us for visiting. The staff at the Restaurant made the evening. Nothing was too much trouble and they were knowledgable about all the courses. Thank you to Gina and Sam for a wonderful night. The courses were many and varied and we went away in awe of some of the creations. At the end of the evening Chef Kamimura came out to meet the guests. Thanks all was a highlight of our trip.
