Stayed in the lodge for almost 3 weeks skiing and thought it was a great place to stay. We stayed in the rooms with private bathroom. Our room was quite spacious, simple and clean. The breakfast served every morning was fantastic. The lodge is a 15-20 mins walk from the main area of Hirafu. However, a shuttle does come around if the legs are tired from skiing/snowboarding! Would highly recommend a cafe which is 2 mins walk away called "Graubunden". They make delicious fresh cakes and baguettes. The staff that work in the lodge are all very friendly, special mention include Max from Sydney and Keiko the owner. The only downside we encountered were other inconsiderate guests that blasted music and talked very loudly around midnight whilst we were trying to sleep. Other than that, we would absolutely stay here again.

1. Though it is located off the main area of niseko hirafu, there is a shuttle just outside the lodge which makes it very convenient. The shuttle runs to the Hirafu ski area. The shuttle runs till 11pm, enough time to ski have a dinner, chill and head back. It will be a 20 mins walk in the snow back to the lodge from Hirafu. Pick up can be arranged from the train station.

2. Great, friendly staff that speaks perfect english! Hard to find in Hokkaido area. They helped us to arrange for ski rentals (at a discounted rate) and got us a cab to send us to the train station.

3. Room was OK, but beds are super single (larger than a single), with a portable heater and a small TV in the room.

4. Only disappointment is the shared toilets, and the toilets can only be used up to a certain time (9 or 10pm), we had to endure one night with no shower after coming back from the new yrs' eve party.

5. There's a shed for drying yr skis, etc.

Thank you and great to hear you had a great stay with us!

Just one small correction to your review. That's right, the Japanese style communal baths do close at 10pm. But the toilets and wash basin facilities are of course available 24 hours.

Also note this is applicable to our ski lodge. Our backpacker (next door to the lodge) has shower rooms rather than Japanese baths, and these are available 24 hours.

Again thank you for your review, and we hope to see you again in Niseko!
