“Relaxing small town and beach”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Araha beach is in Chatan, a laid back small town located 1 hour away from Naha center by bus. Nothing much to do here, but nice to come to the beach in the evening and see the sun setting into the horizon with some local people around. It is very relaxing, and time seems to pass much more slowly here.

“Great for kids and photographers”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

This is a nice little beach to visit however it is a frequent spot for both locals and tourists. There is a pirate ship which is a big hit for kids and it also has a mini zip line in the sand. There are basketball courts and picnic areas facing the beach. There's a paved walkway along the beach which is really nice any time of day but expect runners, cyclists, and pet owners along the way. Great views and amazing sunsets for photographers to take advantage off. Not far from the beach is the very well known sea wall wich is decorated with graffiti as art. You can expect it to be somewhat crowded during the summer but nothing compared to the crowded beaches of Southern California. Overall a nice place to visit.

“Great for kids, beautiful sunset, touristy”
Reviewed October 18, 2013 via mobile

Our kids LOVED this beach. It has a pirate ship playground. I have heard it can be crowded, but when we were here on a Friday evening in October, it wasn't so bad. I can imagine it gets pretty hectic during the summer. Near lots of restaurants and shops. Great place to watch the sunset and let the kids run off some energy. It's a little more "touristy" than some of the other beaches we have been to in the area. We will return again, it's a fun, well-maintained beach.

“ok beach”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Good beach, even on dome winter days. Many activities. Good sand. BBQ. Playground for children. The water seems clean. On low tide, no swimming possible.
