We had visited the Cloister and already decided to go to the Auberge for lunch.
We had the menu of the day and we were delighted to wait a little longer as everything is individually prepared by the chef.
For 33 euros we had:-
Asparagus soup with morelle mushrooms
Beef plus seven tiny vegetables
Smoked salmon salad
chicken a la crème with basil and the same vegetables
pear and almond tart
plus 2 glasses of excellent rose.
The owner was brisk and was 'running' all the time. We talked to her afterwards and she was charming and explained how difficult it was to have staff due to French law. She and her husband manage everything together and in our view do it very well.
This was our second visit, the other being about 8 years ago.
We strongly recommend this restaurant and we shall certainly visit again the next time we are in the area.
