Description: Dylans the place in El Tarter, Andorra to eat, drink and chill. Offering an extensive menu of dishes created by David Denais a french chef who describes his style as fusion of American and European cuisine. The cocktails are spectacular and like the restaurant at a reasonable price. Add this to music and videos in the chill out lounge below makes a visit to Dylans a must.

“unexpected great new year!”
Reviewed February 8, 2010

We just wanted to say thanks to the originators of the new years party at Dylan's!

My wife and me didn't know what to expect of Andorra when we went there the end of last year (2009). We got invited by some friends we met skiing, to go with them to Dylan's for new years evening;
After the dinner witch was very tasteful, we went downstairs where we were surprised by the size of the club! Party, Champagne, laughs, disco-lights, dancing and happy people all around! That was both our opinion: enough to write a review now we're home!

Keep up the good work guys; you're worth visiting if you go to Andorra!

Ciao,

Michela (IT) and Joris (NL)

“quite the worst new years eve ever - courtesy of dylans, andorra”
Reviewed January 14, 2010

we booked in (just the two of us) for their new years eve dinner @ €120 per head, and so not unreasonably, hoped for reasonable food - silly me. the 5 course set menu was accompanied by no menu card - so we didnt know whether we liked what was coming next and therefore be able to keep some room for it, or whether we might be allergic etc. the rubbery fish we were served, was allegedly monkfish. when we left it barely eaten, the friendly enough waitress informed the chef. he sent the comment back "this fish is found in very deep waters and therefore will always have this texture" right. i am neither a cook nor a fisherman, and my experience of deep see diving non existent. but im not stupid, and have had monkfish 100 times better from M&S, which i have prepared in the microwave. mediocre food and warm wine and later champagne followed.

there were about 20 other guests 'enjoying' new years eve at dylans. the owner (or at least head honcho) was on the next table to us. call me old fashioned, but id have expected any maitre d, owner, boss etc to at least say hello - especially as we were on a 'lock in' and it was new years eve. but no, he snubbed us from the start and after he heard us politely complain about the supposed monkfish, became ever more elusive.

all this, coupled with the stifling room temperature, made us ask for the bill and a taxi at a depressing 12.05 on new years night ! "we dont have any taxi numbers" we were informed with nothing short of glee by a waiter. this did little to appease me and i saw red. a colleague of his eventually found a cab number, which came with the warning "they'll take literally hours to get all the way up here" (100 metres from the main road, next to the bus stop, in the centre of a ski village).

we were then shunted downstairs to the club room / bar, for further merry making. our spirits were so dampened, the music system so lousy and the owner, so annoying by standing next to us and still failing to acknowledge us, and our mobiles without signal in the basement, so we went back to the main ground floor bar, which we were told was closing, and "you should go back downstairs now please". "but our phones dont work there" i protested. "then you must wait outside - we are closing here" he said. "but its minus 5 and snowing heavily out there" i pleaded. the response to this was a shrug of the shoulders ! go at your peril !

I am the owner, or "head honcho" as described in the recent review of Dylan's Andorra titled "Worst New Year's Eve Ever".

I am very surprised to read such a totally opposite review to the general comments from other customers who congratulated our staff at Dylan’s for such a brilliant New Year's Eve. Several commented on how much they enjoyed the meal that was put on that evening which I agree is different from our normal, value for money, classic cuisine.

This was done at the specific request of certain of our loyal regular customers. At their request we created this one night special package at Dylan's restaurant and Dylan's chill-out lounge/club downstairs and am sorry to hear this customer felt so disappointed with the evening .

The 120€ was for a 5 course dinner, unlimited amounts of quality wine and champagne (we are known for having an extensive list of good wines), free entrance to the Chill-Out Bar and a free cocktail at the party with international djs and cool music that continued until 7.00am With a capacity of only 44 covers in the restaurant and just one sitting on that evening we defend our policy to offer our customers something a little more special and one of the most important night's of the year.

I personally was not working that night and had a private evening with a small party of friends and family who had flown in to see me. Angels the manageress on duty worked very hard to ensure that all our customers enjoyed the night and this she does well as do the rest of our trained staff. However we have to accept that sometimes it is not possible to please everyone on every minute detail but we will continue to try.

If feels unfair to suggest that the waiter reacted with "glee" to the fact that it was impossible to get a taxi at 12.05 am on New Year's Eve. He would have gotten one for this customer, but it proved to be impossible, partly because it was just after midnight on New Year's Eve, a particularly busy moment in a particularly busy night for taxis, and also because Dylan’s is located right up in the mountain next to the ski lift of Soldeu El Tarter village approx 15 kilometers away from the main town of Andorra la Vella where the taxis are mostly based.

We hope there will be a next time and that this customer will consider giving us another chance

John

“Best place in El Tarter”
Reviewed December 7, 2009

We spent a couple of days eating in Dylan's and the food is great, plus friendly service and great apres-ski atmosphere with cocktails and a party downstairs in the lounge. Would definately recommend Dylan's restaurant and lounge to anyone staying in and around El Tarter, which in the Grand Valira ski system of Andorra.

“Something for everyone”
Reviewed October 22, 2009

Suited everybody's taste the kids loved the menu but with just enough innovation to keep the adults palate interested as well. I was starving so had the extra large burger....this was a mistake the portions were big and meant that I missed out on the delicious desserts. Service was good and friendly, the amosphere very relaxing and what a pleasant surprise when the bill came, good food at a good reasonable price which is not that easy to find.

“Little gem in El Tarter...”
Reviewed September 7, 2009

I was lucky enough to get taken to Dylans while holidaying in El Tarter over the summer.

The entire evening was a lot of fun.. starting off with a few drinks in the bar, followed by a great meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we couldnt fault anything. The menu was very extensive, offering a great range of food to suit all tastes & it was completed by a great atmosphere.

Highly recommended to all & I will be back to visit in the winter.
