I've been coming to the Chinese restaurant attached to this pub for years. Always has an eclectic crowd, plenty of atmosphere and all the feel of the "local" that it is for many nearby villages. Food as usual is to the high standard I've come to expect and for the first time this evening I have decided to stay. Rooms are in an adjoining house - its a very reasonably priced B8B that doesn't suffer from any noise from the pub it is associated with. My room (4) is a double that's appears to be recently decorated and contemporary in style. The bed is ultra comfy as I nearly dropped off taking a crafty bit of shut eye before dinner. The en suite is a shower, sink and toilet. The view from the window isn't anything to write home about as it overlooks the roof and vents but its the inside that counts and I can't complain. I'd highly recommend this if you're passing. There's a small beer garden at the back and plenty of parking.
