“Valentines treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

When it comes to a celebration, this must be THE place to go in Lutterworth. We enjoyed another fantastic meal and a great evening. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful. We enoyed a glass of champagne and canapes followed by a choice of main courses and a selection of desserts. With some reasonably proced Shiraz,aAll in all, a lovely evening

“Victim of their own success?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

We chose to drop in for Sunday lunch after reading reviews on our way home from London. It is a quick detour from the M1 and easy to find. We had literally booked 35 minutes earlier and they were very accommodating even though the dining room was full we had a nice table in the lounge area. We were seen to quickly and the service throughout was very professional. The carvery was disappointing, the Yorkshire pudding was cremated and the peas dry and wrinkled. The roast beef was perfectly cooked though. The custard for the pudding was obviously packet made and very sweet and sickly. The Inn had a lot of charm, but with such a busy service obviously the food suffered slightly. We paid £13.95 for the two courses.

“Nice place for lunch”

Stopped here for lunch. Surprised how busy it was mid week. Food is good. Service was good. Draft beer (Abbot) good.

“Great motorway lunch break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

Hate motorway services so Googled a lunch stop close to M1 for me and my family travelling from the North to Surrey for Xmas. Couldn't have chosen a more quaint pretty cosy and inviting pub in a lovely little market town literally 5 mins from motorway. The food and olde worlde pub atmosphere were far better than I could have hoped for. Lovely sandwiches served with salad and tortilla chips with plenty of other options at great prices. No motorway service preformed chopped ham here!!The pub was easy to find by following the brown tourist signs and parking was easy behind the pub even though it was Saturday before Xmas. This will now be our regular stop in the future and looking forward to calling again.

“NOT WORTH THE JOURNEY”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2013

We met some friends from Herfordshire here for our annual get-together and evening meal.
1. The bad
The toilets, both ladies and gents were dreadful with an acrid smell of urine which they have tried to mask, unsuccessfully, with air freshener. If a public area is so unhygienic, I have to wonder what happens behind the scenes.
Whist sat in the bar, a waiter asked my wife to stand while he stood on her seat with his shoes on and retrieved a bottle of spirits from the shelf above her head. He then invited her to sit down again while we looked at each other in astonishment.
A group of rowdy men who were obviously staying overnight were having a very loud conversation in the bar, where every 4th word or so was [--] or [--]. The staff made no effort to ask them to mind their language.

The food itself was OK. My rib eye steak was rather dry but the veg was fine. We did not have desserts. The coffee was almost cold when it came. The service in the restaurant was fine.

Next year I shall look for somewhere else to eat.
