“Cosy and warm welcome”

We were Well taken care of by the owner and her children, we loved the interior wich is done with love and everything has a story from were it came . The place is Alive with Nice dogs and Cats' and other animals. She puts passion in her organic vegatable garden. We had a lovely diner. And made a great walk to An ancient pyramide in the Woods. You could tell this is a warm family.
Orte and surroundings is worthwile to Discover, very little tourist and Nice villages in the surrounding. A beautiful view.

Casale Hortensei looks very good in the pictures but on closer inspection is overgrown, unkempt and not clean. Last falls clean up gardening had not been completed and the spring gardening has not been started. A contract was sent to us using US dollars and was changed to euros on arrival.Meter readings for the utilities were questionable and 190 euros was charged for less than a week of rental. The bedrooms were comfortable but not all of the bathroom showers were operating. There was not an adequate supply of hot water. The kitchen was dirty and dishes needed washing before use. Screens and windows had not be cleaned in a long time. If you have allergies to dust, mold mildew or cats this is not the place to stay, I would not recommend this villa.

For Fathers Day we were looking for a daytrip retreat from the heat of Rome, a place to eat together and an water to cool off in. Elisabeth was a wonderful host. We enjoyed a simple but delicious home-made vegetarian meal together on the shaded terrace, the kids played with her dogs and cats, we relaxed under tall shade trees in the garden enjoying a wonderful view from high over the countryside - and stayed cool in the pool until 5:00pm when ice cream was served as we dressed for the drive home to Rome. The photos of her B&B while lovely do not do justice to the charm of the house inside and out. What more can I say - a delightful day. Lori

Room Tip: We did not sleep overnight but all of the rooms are lovely and each decorated in a unique way.

We felt quickly at ease because of the friendly and beautiful surroundings. we experienced an open family atmosphere and a meetingplace for people from different backgrounds. Sometimes a little chaotic but not in an undermining way, arrangements are made quickly.
Must like animals, must like homemade and- grown food (especially the lovely fruitdesserts). Must appreciate the agricultural and italian lifestyle (where people sit lengthy at the table with eachother). The rooms are spacious and private and carry a countrycharacter. In their luscious garden it is easy to relax while enjoying the wide view over the hills or cooling down by the pool.

My 2-year-old son and I spent the weekend here and felt right at home. I was so pleased to find a vegetarian, organic kitchen and a homey atmosphere. The property is well-worn, but clean and easy on the all the senses. My toddler enjoyed the swing, the dogs and cats, trips to the chicken coop and running freely on the lawn. Lunches and dinners were delicious and simple -- I finally found someone in Italy who cooks as I do (which is not standard Italian style)! I did not realize that there was a fee for the lunch, or day pass, as the host explained later, but it made sense, as the meals were hot, plentiful and graciously served. Our room was comfortable and cheerful, with a beautiful wooden baby's bed that I learned was made in Brazil. I look forward to returning whenever I need a "pausa" from busy Roman life.
