We were in Pumzika for 8 days during Christmas 2013. This review will cover everything we ate during the stay. André makes fresh baked bread every day for breakfast, you can order snacks, sandwich or chapati (just examples, ask and they will attend your wish) in the afternoon and he also is the chef for 4 course dinner in the evening. Everything served was flawless, I have never been so well and eaten this much of good food, it's healthy, tastes good and is beautifully presented. André knows how to put the dish together and he is also a very fun man, playing with your senses and every dinner have a small game of guess by the table. Absolute top notch, premium restaurant that you don't want to miss.

Andi is a chef who likes to intrigue and surprise his guests. His creations were always delicious, even if they were sometimes unusual. We loved the vegetable / fruit combinations in his soups. Obviously, he has all sorts of amazing raw materials at his disposal on Zanzibar, but he is very clever at combining them with some more familiar ingredients. My only complaint would be that I am not used to having a 4-course dinner every evening!

I stayed with Gabby and Andre for 3 days over New Years Eve, 2013 and had 3 first class evening meals and 3 great breakfasts. The food is light but leaves you feeling full and is tasty and beautifully presented. The restaurant ambience is great and service impeccable: this couple cannot do enough for you and the accomodation they offer is lovely.
I would certainly go again.

The cuisine at Chez Andri is an imaginative mix of fresh local ingredients and European flair. The 4-course dinners are superb, always including a soup, salad course, main dish and dessert. Chef Andri comes to the table to explain each dish, and often engages his guests in guessing ingredients by taste. The local fresh fish selections are especially good. There is also a very good selection of wines, mostly from South Africa. Chef Andri bakes fresh bread every morning for breakfast, and it is served with homemade jams from local fruit. Lunch is also available if you have room!

Every morning fresh bread, a multiple choice of jams, fresh juice of local fruits and tasty coffee.
Every evening a different fresh soup, a different tasty salade, a perfect presented and delicious main dish and last but not least a dessert to complete a perfect menu.
