“A Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

We stayed two nights at Vento di Rose on the recommendation of a friend. The owners, Emidio and Emannuela, could not have been more friendly and accommodating to us. The view from our upstairs room was breathtaking, the room was very tastefully decorated and the breakfasts were excellent and featured some local specialties. Emidio actually lead us to a superb and reasonable seafood restaurant (Il Faro) in the nearby coastal town of Pedaso. The next day he lead us to several local wineries which I will review in the coming months in my column on www.wineloverspage.com. Le Marche is an undiscovered jewel and Vente di Rose is a superb location from which to explore the southern part of the region.

We spent 4 nights at Vento di Rose in september 2011. My family has stayed there and recommended us Vento di Rose. We didn't regret it for one minute. It was wonderful. Emauela and Emidio are very friendly and make you feel at home. Wonderful breakfast with a story to tell with it. One night we had a barbecue with the butcher and compagnion, Emanuela and Emidio, with the other guests from the USA. We had the try-out. It was wonderful and lots of fun. It also brings people together. Thank you very much for a wonderfull stay!!!!

My wife and I stayed in Vento di Rose for 3 nites in Sept.2011. The owners are such lovely people it's difficult to say enough. After 3 nites there we consider them friends and hope to see them again in the future. We stayed in the upstairs corner room that has the marvelous cross valley view in one direction and towards the Sibelline mountains in the other direction. One morning Emanuela gave us and the 2 other couples staying there a free hands on cooking class on the preparation of olivi ascolani, a regional specialty. After two hours of this,on a very warm day, she was all ready to continue on with pasta class. The breakfasts are incredibly delicious, abundent, and composed of homemade products. They are too much food for most people, and the idea is that you will save the things that are appropriate for lunch and take them with you in a cloth sack that they provide. Speaking italian is important for me and Emidio in particular would talk with me like he had nothing else to do more important. They and their home are fantastic. Probably best appreciated by lingering over breakfast and sitting in the shade of the trellised terrazza in the late afternoon drinking a glass of local wine

We stayed at Vento di Rose for 3 days and nights near the end of August. Our experience was simple to describe: magical. Emanuela and Emidio have created a magical world in the rolling hills of Monterrubiano filled with magnificent food, kind and generous energy, and impeccable hospitality. From the moment that we first saw Emidio waiting for us on the train station platform to our last moments comically arguing over a gift, we will always cherish our experience at this special place. More details for you:

Booking: Emanuela was kind and communicative before our stay and helped us figure out transportation possibilities. She also did not require a deposit from us, telling me that "we trust our guests," which started the entire experience off in a direction far different from that which we navigate at home.

Transportation: We joked during our trip that Emidio was not only an Inn Keeper, but also a professional limo driver! We visited Italy without renting a car, and Emidio went above and beyond anything that we expected in terms of transporting us to/from the train station and to/from dinners and tourism visits. We did not expect as much support as we received and felt enormous gratitude for his generosity.

Our room: Even in the midst of an enormous heat wave ("Molto caldo! Molto caldo" as Emanuela explained), we have not slept as well as we did at Vento for many years. Literally. Even in our air conditioned home. The bed was an incredible mountain of sleep! The views and air that traveled to us from the windows were remarkable! The B & B, decorated over the years by Emanuela and Emidio had wonderful, peaceful, warm energy. We also had a room with a wonderful bathroom next to it. The shower was fantastic, and the decor beautiful (even down to the miniature soaps found in an old french bathroom stand). To create privacy, Emidio and Emanuela have made a "privacy curtain" that separates the two doors from the hallway so that you can walk from the bathroom to your room in a towel, etc., without others seeing you. The thought put into every detail is remarkable.

The B & B as a whole: Beautiful, impeccably designed, surrounded by gardens and the most breathtaking views. Hammocks line the property, chairs for reading (or sleeping) in fill the grass. You can pick tomatoes off of the vine and many different types of fruit grow all around you. The kitchen for guests to use is large, very well stocked in terms of cooking utensils and staples. Each guest room gets its own shelf in the fridge and in a dry goods cupboard. Very easy to use and comfortable.

Food: We were greeted upon our arrival with a magnificent bottle of local chilled red wine and never ending snacks (cookies, pastries, meats, cheeses and Emidio and Emanuela's smiles). Oh, and figs from the tree on the property ... oh, and gelato that Emidio drove down from Monterrubiano, a special flavor which is unique to the region. And yes, this was all before dinner. And yes, much of it disappeared! We sat on the back porch with a wonderful breeze coming through, mesmerized by the view, the gastronomic treats and a true exhalation. The breakfast feast? Unclear what we can add to what everyone else has said. Our greatest memory of breakfast was sitting at our table, chatting with the other guests, with Emanuela and Emidio and then having the food brought out. Emanuela or Emidio would then count the dishes on the table to make sure that all was served. All 9 or 10 dishes of magnificent, local, intentional food (plus delicious coffee and juice). As noted by others, there was always plenty for a picnic or two (or a snack while reading barefoot in the grass).

Cooking class: We took a cooking class with Emanuela (with help from Emidio as well). We learned how to make pasta (she learned from her mother and grandmother), arrabiata sauce, panzanella salad, and how to put a little bit of our hearts into our cooking! The class was a magical experience and somehow our English-Italian barrier was transcended! (Emanuela and Emidio speak great English! It was our Italian that was improvised!) Our dinner that night was the most delicious pasta either of us have ever eaten.

Local sites: During our stay we went to visit Monterrubiano and the Adriatic Sea. Monterrubiano is a beautiful small city/town and we took a lovely tour with a local guide and saw the town's museum (with artifacts dating back to the bronze age). We also spent an afternoon at the Adriatic, in Pedaso. Lovely!

Overall, Vento di Rose reminds us of a cross between the magical worlds of "Amelie" and "Chocolat" (with a bit of "Like Water for Chocolate" in the love-filled food). If we can, we definitely will return to Vento di Rose. We will send our friends and wish Emidio and Emanuela the best of luck with their adventure!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the at Vento di Rose for a week at the end of August. We choose this B&B following the amazing reviews we had read on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed.

This B&B is a calm and charming place, surrounded by picturesque farmlands and medieval hill villages. All around the house there's gardens with all kind of trees, plants and flowers. The household atmosphere is very relaxing and just perfect if you are looking for a place where you can stay a couple of days during your vacation in the Marches to take some rest, relax and enjoy the authenticity of the real Italian rural life.
Our room was very comfortable and decorated with good taste and a great attention to details. Since the B&B had only 3 guest rooms, the place is very quiet at night and in the morning. Be careful: is is very easy to oversleep!

Emanuella and Emedio are fantastic hosts that will do everything to make you feel at home. They are also very helpful and will provide you with a ton of useful information (restaurants, activities, etc.) that will save you a lot of time and energy. Emanuella is an accomplished cook and a breakfast expert; believe me, the breakfasts at the Vento di Rose are incredible.

Overall, the Vento di Rose is an amazing B&B that won't disappoint you. This is definitely a great place to stay during your trip in the marvelous region of the Marches.

Room Tip: There' only 3 guess rooms and they seems to be all great.

My husband and I stayed at Vento di Rose for a week at the end of October following a recommendation from a family member who had stayed there and loved it. Wow were we glad that we did! We were shown to our room by Emidio, who with his wife Emanuela own Vento di Rose. The room was spacious and charming and had it's own entrance to outside, which we really liked for the privacy! Emidio asked if we'd like some wine (who could say no?!) and then brought us a bottle of locally made red wine and couple of wine glasses. We immediately felt right at home.

The next morning we were amazed by the breakfast- Emidio kept bringing out more and more plates of homemade and locally sourced treats, from fresh juices, cafe latte and pastries to dried sausages to thin crispy eggplant slices with cherry tomatoes on top! The breakfast changed every morning, but was always more than we could ever eat in one sitting. Fortunately, they had set up a picnic basket station with everything we needed to wrap up our leftovers, so we only had to pay for one meal (dinner) every day! When we told Emidio that we were really interested in local foods and farming, he directed us to (and sometimes even took us on) tours to see olive oil, wool, and vino cotto (a local cooked wine) being made- we could not have asked for more! He also made us reservations for dinner for us at a local restaurant without any signage that we never would have known was there, where we had one of the best meals of our lives! (Ask Emidio or Emanuela to make reservations at Sergio's restaurant- you will not regret it!!!) After our daily adventures, we were happy to settle back in to our room with it's comfortable bed, or sit and read at one of the many outdoor sitting areas around Vento di Rose with great views of medieval hill towns and rolling farm land... Ah...:)

After 4 nights in Tuscany (San Gimignano and Montepulciano), we were so thrilled to have this more authentic experience off the beaten path in Marche. My husband and I agreed that if we had it to do again, we would have spent even more time in Marche rather than Tuscany, but this was mainly because of Emidio and Emanuela and their incredible oasis at Vento di Rose. We would recommend it without reservation to anyone looking for an incredibly relaxing vacation while soaking in all of the culture and delicious food that Italy has to offer!

We can confirm every glowing review given to Vento di Rose and its wonderful owners, Emanuela and Emidio. We stayed here for five nights during the summer of 2006, and we became engaged sitting on the little bench out back overlooking the valley. I'm sure we love it because we became engaged there, but we became engaged there because there was so much to love about it. That morning over breakfast I'd looked at the gorgeous food and stunning surroundings and told my then-boyfriend I'd never been someplace more beautiful. He knew then it was the place to propose.

Le Marche is a well-kept secret (at least for Americans) and a wonderful place to explore the food and villages of rural Italy. Both my now-husband and I have traveled extensively in Italy, and we were still enchanted by the area. And the B&B is charming, friendly, beautifully presented, and comfortable. Emanuela's breakfasts are wonderful and allow you to sample the food of the region. And everything on the property is carefully chosen and maintained, down to the lace from Emidio's grandmother in the rooms. We loved everything about our stay here and agree that in all of our travels, together and apart, we've never stayed anyplace better. This is a truly magical place.
