“of all my favorite places in Jamaica , this is one my top five !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2009

My wife and I stayed at Stawberry Fields Together for our honeymoon this past Februrary(2009) and in a nutshell , it is our dream to spend EVERY anniversary there forever ! I have stayed in Kingston-Negril-Ochio Rios- Montego Bay- Mandeville -Port Antonio and more , at some wonderful places - Sandals "all-inclusives" to small independent places and I think this place is NOT to be missed ! Way out in the middle of "no-where" , no town anywhere near that we saw, but so much to do !! We stayed in a lovely villa right down by the sea and our own little private beach ( skinny dippin under the moon !!). If you want a taste of the real Jamaica , wonderful food , wonderful hospitality and alot of peace & quiet this is the place !! ONE LOVE !

Kim, an American-Jamaican, her son Moses and Everton, her fiance, were the consumate hosts in this pristine, unspoiled bit of paradise!! We were greeted so warmly and genuinely and were invited to eat our meals with their lovely family on their personal veranda. The food was copious, delicious, fresh and definetly local!! Don't expect burgers and fries--instead be willing to go on a taste adventure, as you explore Jamaican cuisine such as saltfish and ackee, curried goat, pumpkin, BBQ chicken and huge breakfasts. As we ate, our hosts generously explained the importance of each meal to the heritage of their beautiful island. The grounds are so incredibly beautiful with the lush green pines, willows, tropical and fruit-bearing plants, as well as two completely private white sand coves. These beaches were perfect for shell collecting or just relaxing in the sun and surf! The nature trails throughout the property were the perfect place for a relaxing walk, where you might spy some lizards, to cool off during the warm afternoons. As we sat one lovely afternoon on the beach, we were surprised by the delicious treat of fresh coconuts brought to us to drink with a straw by our Rasta friend, Brian. This is typical of the attention paid to the guests at this off-the-beaten-path resort. The ATV tour was incredible!!! We felt like we were in the cradle of civilization, as we stared into the lush mountainside to one side and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean to the other side. We were alone in this primitive wilderness, with just our new friends, as we renewed our vows in front of a magnificent waterfall, while lunch cooked over an open fire. Kim made a special gesture of creating a wreath of orchids for my hair, which are grown just miles from her home. The cottages were beautifully crafted, secluded but convenient and exposed to the awesome, raw beauty of the Caribbean as it was meant to be. We were thrilled to have a full kitchen, so that we could enjoy coffee as we watched the waves roll into the private cove adjacent to our home for the week. Strawberry Fields is not a place to simply visit, take a few photos and leave. It is a place that will live within you for the beauty, the majesty and the wonder of it all. You will not leave empty handed. You will leave with new friends, a childlike wonder for the nature that you have witnessed and a desire to return.

Strawverry Fields is a wonderful place to relax and get away from the rush of normal day to day life. Kim who owns it is on hand to meet greet and ensure guests are happy and she is spported by Everton who is one of the nicest and coolest guys you will meet. They went out of their way to give us lifts to various places and get transportation.

All the staff are very hospitable and caring.

It is set in 18 acres of green hilly land on the coast. You can wake up everymorning to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and there is a nice cove to swim in as well.

All in all the place is perfect to get away if you want something relaxed, simple and sweet.

I would like to take this opportunity to clarify that Strawberry Fields Together! formally Sonrise Beach Retreat is not located in the Blue Mountain National Park as stated, we are on the north coast directly north of Kingston on the south coast. in a little fishing village of Robin's Bay n the Parish of St. Mary. We are now offering more eco adventure tours and fresh live lobster caught and cooked right as you watch! Come and experience the real JAMAICA and nature at her best at Strawberry Fields Together!

Our family of 5 felt so lucky to have found Strawberry Fields. Tucked away in a lush landscape, Strawberry Fields encompasses one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The plantlife on the property is rich and tropical, the staff are warm and friendly and the hosts were lovely! We left Strawberry Fields after 4 nights to see what else the island had to offer....but returned after 1 night! The lovely thing was that we welcomed back like family! Our final departure took us to the glitzy Ritz Carlton in Mobay, but even there we hankered for the sounds of the Ocean at night, the stillness of the country and company of the wonderful Jamaicans!
We would love to return again in the future! Thank you so much for for having us!

My wife and I went to Strawberry Fields for our 25th wedding anniversary. We wanted to get a real Jamaican experience instead of staying at an all inclusive. We made the right decision. Kim and her staff were wonderful. My wife and I got the package with the Moolight Magic Cottage, breakfast and lunch and 2 full day and 2 half day tours. The experience was way beyond our expectations. The food was excellent and the tours were fascinating. We highly recommend the tours. The Moonlight Cottage overlooks the ocean and the sound of the ocean going to sleep everynight was wonderful. On the day of our anniversary Kim and her staff set up a table for us at our cottage with candlelight, wine, and a great meal. It made for an extra special anniversary. If you enjoy nature Strawberry Fields is the place to go. I am a bird watcher and between walking around Strawberry Fields and the tours I had 53 species including 15 of Jamaica's endemics. All these were seen with little effort. Just around Strawberry Fields were Jamaican Woodpecker, Jamaican Oriole, Jamaican Vireo, and lots of Red-biled Streamertails, the national bird of Jamaica. My wife and I hope to go back someday to Strawberry Fields. Even if we don't it's nice to know that there is a place like Strawberry Fields.

Celebrated 50th year of life here as gift from my son. Kim Chase and her partner Everett were fantastic hosts. The cottage (Cockatiel) we had was not modern by any means but clean and comfortable. The ATV tour was spectacular and the beach side lunch was better than a meal at any 5 star restaraunt here in the states. The property at Strawberry Fields is maintained in pristine condition with flowers and natural Jamaica surrounding it. We hiked through the rain forest on several occassions along the coast viewing the mountains and beautiful crystal blue waters of the Carribean. We also visited many of the local parishes on our own and took a day trip to Kingston to the Bob Marley museum. With the help of some locals we were able to buy fresh fish just caught by local fisherman in Robins Bay which we cooked out on an open fire near the beach at Strawberry Fields. On two occassions we had meals prepared by Kim Chase's staff which were simply delicious both vegan and non vegan.I highly reccomend Strawberry Fields if your an adventurous type or simply want to escape from the hustle and stress of everyday life. We plan on returning..and this time I am bringing my grandkids..no video games...no television..no phones..just the natural surroundings of the "real" Jamaica...Thanks Kim and all your staff for a memorable time..
