What could be a really top class beach resort was marred by the run down beach huts and uninspired restaurant. The simple huts are relatively clean but have sliding doors with a large gap at the top that allowed a lot of bugs and wasps in. There seems to be a problem with the latter as they were constantly flying in the gap above the door and getting trapped. The restaurant/cafe had no ambience whatsoever and served up basic Vietnamese and western food. Also, around 4pm the sand flies appear on the beach and start biting. The beach itself has quite a bit of plastic litter on it from the restaurant and guests, while there is a big concrete pier that blocks what would otherwise be a gorgeous view.

This place has potential to be great with a better menu, some laid back music and properly sealed huts. Overall this accommodation is far too expensive for what you get. I'd recommend staying at the nearby Villa Maison instead as it's not much more expensive. On the plus side, their motorbikes were cheap to rent at 120,000 per day.

Very friendly service, nice beach let down by lack of facilities on beach i.e. chairs etc, with rooms that are very average and below par bathrooms. Rooms = 1 star, Beach =3 star. Better options elsewhere unless being on the beach is a must.

Room Tip: Only select beach side rooms

We had a sea view room which I recommend because its not really that much more expensive and the view is pretty nice to the peaceful beach. Rooms are pretty basic, but there is everything you need and the price is good.
We ordered a transportation from the airport which never came. But no big deal, the are meter taxis waiting outside the airport. Taxis are quite expensive in Con Dao in Vietnam standards, our ride from air port to Con Dao Camping was about 250 000 vnd.
We rented a motorbike for four days and it was about 500 000 vnd total. Motorbike is the best way to discover the island and the many beautiful beaches there. Only "traffic" you'll see is around the Con Son market, besides that, the streets are pretty empty and quiet.

We stayed at Con Dao Camping for six nights and were very impressed. We chose the airport pick up to avoid the hassle of getting a taxi at the airport, which was there when we landed. Once at Con Dao Camping the check-in process was smooth and the lady on reception spoke good English. Our room was very clean (and cleaned daily) and well-appointed, with air conditioning, a TV, mosquito net, comfortable double bed and a fridge with mini bar which was priced comparable to local mini-marts. We were given fresh towels daily and beach towels were available to rent if we needed (we didn't). There was also a reasonably-prices laundry service, of which we took advantage. Con Dao Camping is one of a few places on the island where the accommodation is right next to the beach and this was a real draw for us. It is also well-located for trips into Con Son town and the main tourist attractions on the island. Whilst we didn't eat at the restaurant (so many other places to try!) the menu was varied and would cater to a range of tastes. Finally, I have to thank Con Dao Camping for posting on some missing laundry. There had been some confusion regarding when our laundry would be delivered and unfortunately it was not ready by our checkout. However, Con Dao Camping kindly posted our laundry on to our next destination. I would definitely recommend Con Dao Camping to other visitors to the beautiful Con Dao Islands.

Stayed five nights here and was very impressed. It's definitely worth paying a little extra for the sea view - you can hear the waves from your room and the beach is literally 30 seconds away. It's basically a private beach and I had it to myself most of the time - didn't bother checking out other beaches! The accommodation is simple, but had absolutely everything I needed, and is cleaned every day. I had a gecko in my room which might have put other people off but I thought it was cute! There is also a restaurant/cafe serving food until 11 and you can hire scooters. Would definitely recommend this place.
