From the time we arrived till the time we (unfortunately) had to leave we were completely stunned by this amazing property and the level of service. The staff were exceptional in all aspects and a special mention must go to our butler who assisted us during our stay Hanh.

We stayed in an ocean front duplex and I honestly believe that this is probably the best available purely because of ease of access to the beach. The villa was very well appointed and everything was comfortable and luxurious. There are no plastics to be seen as this particular six senses believe in sustainability. Even the straws for drinks were made from lemon grass.

The resort itself is set on a pristine beach which stretched from one end of the resort to the other and beyond. The island itself is quiet and very laid back. The hotel arranged a scooter for us to explore the island. This is probably the best way to go around. The roads are quiet and you can stop off for photo opportunities (of which there are many) any time you want.

There are various options for dining from casual to semi-formal, but no matter what we chose the food was always fantastic with plentiful options available. Breakfast is definitely a must even if you just wake up to eat and head back to bed again.

There are activities to choose from at the experience center. We did a lighthouse trek which was on another island. This was arranged well however not for the unfit. But there are activities for all sorts. Mainly though we really enjoyed the pristine beach located just off our villa. The beach is clean and quiet to the point where you dont see anyone for hours.

Overall a fantastic experience and a great place for R&R.

Our duplex beach bungalow by the 1.6 km pristine beach was awesome. So were the views and the overall surroundings of the resort. The food was excellent (the seafood in particular) and the staff could not have been more forthcoming and friendly. However, the reason our stay does not obtain an Excellent in this review is down to one thing: The wind. Throughout our 9 days stay in the end of February the wind was extremely annoying. 3-4 days we could hardly be out on our sun terrace (villa 103) - it was just too windy and also the wind brought a lot of dry sand onto the terrace, into our little private pool, and even inside the bungalow. (If I want a body scrub I prefer the spa not a sand storm ;).)
Evidently there are heavy winds here from Oct/Nov to March so probably better to come at a different time of the year (but before the rainy season) if your purpose is to have a relaxing beach holiday - as was ours. Most days we woke up to an overcast as well. The island seems to "attract" clouds - at least at this time of the year.

Room Tip: When windy there seems to be more dry, blowing sand up onto the bungalow terraces (first row) on the side of the beach closest to the restaurant. Try to get one further away were the tide keeps the sand more wet. Or consider a bungalow in the second row from the beach - not as nice views maybe but definitely calmer.

If only the wind has affected your experience, I very happy that the villa, the service, the food, the pristine beach have contributed to make a pleasant stay. The windy Season starts in December through March (in despite to have no wind at all for almost 4 weeks prior to your visit !), when october/november remains one of my preferred time of the year to visit Con Dao specially with the turtles activities...
Waiting for your next visit to discover our island with a more pleasant weather.

This is our second stay at a Six Senses resort, and whilst similar there is enough to set them apart. There is a consistently high level of service, both with the staff and the excellent food and beverages.

We stayed in an Ocean front duplex, which was well appointed and very comfortable. Having the bathroom downstairs was a hassle at times, and the bathroom lighting was quite dim at night, but these are very minor issues. We had a night of wind gusts, and it was great to hear the villa groan like an old clipper. The pool was small, but adequate, and filled throughout the day with sand blowing up from the beach. There were bikes available at the villa to ride in the resort, including a kids bike. Our butler, Phi Anh, was attentive but unobtrusive, which was great. The food and beverage service was fantastic, from breakfast to room service, and caters for kids with a limited menu.

The island of Con Son is isolated, with a very small town centre. However, the isolation is the appeal, getting away from it all for a totally relaxed holiday. The beach is long and clean, with lots of small crabs busily going about their business in the early morning and evening,

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at SS Con Dao, and I would highly recommend a visit if you are looking to get away for a relaxing and indulgent break

Pristine beach, remote island, very romantic setting and extraordinary dedication of staff.
At first a health emergency reminded us of the bad side of being on an island far from mainland, but thanks to the immediate assistance and professionalism of Guillaume we were able to go back to Ho Chi Minh nearly on the spot. When we came back everything was seamless again, making us totally forget the health incident. Our butler Hayley was extremely helpful, Leun took us the best pictures with our SLR, Jessica treated us to a feast breakfast brunch at the Chef's table, and the Chef, Chris cooks meals to die for. Thank you all and hope to return soon! Anis

Room Tip: We were in a room by the ocean, i believe the ones at the back are not as handy in terms of jumping into the beach and back ..

This resort is simply magnificent. It lies on a pristine beach, surrounded by mountains. We occupied a beachfront villa with an amazing view! Villa was big, simple and elegant, well appointed. Beach is clean, wide, long, sand as smooth as silk. Water is shallow, good for small kids. Staff is amazingly nice, polite, helpful, they loved our kid and spoiled him (in the kids club but also in the restaurants.) I can not tell you how good we felt among these really beautiful people! Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality and congrats to the managers for having such an amazing team!
Spa is amazing, set on a cliff top, with awesome views over the blue ocean. Good therapists. Gym is tiny but always empty, I was there all by myself almost every day. It is well appointed, though.
Food is absolutely amazing, incredibly good, both Vietnamese dishes and Western ones. I loved the restaurant called Vietnamese by the Market, which has an open kitchen, where a nice lady was cooking superb dishes for lunch. Bar is also nice. Room service was very prompt, same was housekeeping. I liked this resort more than I liked Six Senses Laamu and Soneva Fushi.
I would really love to go back again someday, on beautiful Con Dao Island!
