We stayed for 2 nights in August 08 in a superior room for dinner, bed & breakfast.
1st thing that struck me was how clean the hotel was - especially the bedroom & bathroom. Everything was immaculate. Our bedroom was extremely spacious & it was a nice touch to have fruit provided in the room.
We had booked in for the 5 course dinner each night we stayed & we were not disappointed. The food was excellent & there was plenty of it!
The hosts were very friendly & were quick to recommend places for us to visit.

Anywhere that invites you to sit in the lounge with a free whisky or sherry while checking in has to bode well for the rest of the time.

The owners seem to run the hotel themselves with very few other staff but this does not affect the attention they give you at any time.

Our room was huge and the bathroom had a novel feature in that there was a second door that opened in to the upstairs hall

The are 2 comfortable lounges downstairs, a separate breakfast room and a dining room. There is also a large garden with red squirrels running around and peculiar fungi growing.

There is no bar as such but there is a good selection of local beers avalable.

The food was of a very high standard and the menu changed daily. Breakfast was also excellent.

The location is very quiet: when the road sign on the main road says hotel, B&B and shop thats all there is apart from a few houses; but you are not far from the many attractions of the area.

Many of the guests seemed to be regulars, if you would like a totally relaxing break with superb food and hospitality this is the place.

Fabulous hotel - excellent "hands on" hosts. Four of us stayed in two superior rooms on bed breakfast and evening meal basis. All food is first class as is the hotel and surroundings.Evening meal would put some first class restaurants in the shade. If you have the chance be sure to give this hotel a visit.

You are made to feel so welcome from the moment you arrive, staying here is a wonderful experience. There are lovely places to sit and relax in from of an open fire and some lovely views of the Cairngorm Mountains. The food is imaginative and dinner was a definite highlight. Attention to detail is everywhere, from fresh flowers and fruitbowls, to magazines and films in each room. I would recommend it to anyone who is staying in the area and it would be a lovely place to go for a special occasion.

I stayed in this hotel for our 3rd wedding anniversary, for 3 nights, we enjoyed it so much, my wife wants us to go back every year now!!!!!

Iain, the owner was so helpful, so nice, so professional and experienced that I am not surprised his hotel is ranked number 1 by tripadvisor readers.

The hotel itself is lovely, full of character and creaks, our room was really big and comfy. The food........... oh my god, the food was just fantastic. It would not have been out of place at a top London restaurant. We had some wine, but didn't finish it. So Iain put it in the fridge and brought it back out to us the next night, nice touch.

It is not the cheapest hotel, but you get what you pay for and we certainly got our monies worth.

Do yourself a favour and stay here, you will love it.

My husband and I spent our third wedding anniversary here in June 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming and cosy traditional country house hotel. The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner offering a choice of quality local produce beautifully prepared, while the sevice was warm and friendly without being intrusive. A particular highlight was the enormous tub in our en-suite bathroom, long hot soaks in which more than made up for the inclement Scottish weather! All in all a lovely spot for a relaxing getaway in the highlands.

A wonderful way to experience the joys of Scotland. The house is warm and welcoming as are the hosts. A wonderful afternoon was spent in front of the fire on a cold November day. The food was excellent, with a new menu every day, making for an exceptional dining experience. The house has been maintained with an old world charm, making this a perfect Scottish experience, especially for world travellers looking to enjoy the Scottish countryside at its best.
