Visited here with a large group of friends. I had phoned in advance to book a table and it was all set up for us before we arrived. The food was lovely with homemade soup and a generous portion of haggis neeps and tatties.....yummy, macaroni and chips served with a small side salad garnish to name but a couple of specials on the menu. The staff were friendly, service efficient and with the cost of a soup, 2 mains and a glass of wine at £20, great value. The shop stocked a nice variety of gifts. The sign posting could be better but we found it in the end and will visit again if in the area.

The main menu food was good but the Mother's Day menu was poor and the salmon was not as described. We booked a table but were not told about the fixed menu. When we arrived, we weren't given a proper menu and were told that we were only supposed to be ordering from the fixed Mother's Day menu (which detailed 2 mains and none of the starters). However, they were wonderfully accommodating when we asked if we could order from the main menu. It was really good food and I can see why it gets good recommendations for such. The service was good, but an actual printed copy of the special menu on the table for the would have been a good idea.
