Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: The Clara Maria Cheese Farm and Clog Factory is set in the pastoral polder landscape just southwest of Amsterdam. This historic 160-year old farm creates an inviting atmosphere for visitors to step back into old-world charm. The original barn has been charmingly transformed into the wooden shoe factory and the cheese making room, with a spacious, nostalgic gift shop that has a large variety of Dutch souvenirs. Visitors are welcome to drop in for a tour and to taste a variety of our delicious, freshly made cheese.

“Excellant place to visit!”

The family literally show you the way the clogs and cheese are made. Plenty of clogs to choose from to purchase. They even have some slippers(of coarse not made of wood). You are also able to watch how they make the cheese as they explain every detail! The best part is tasting it! Purchased three but trust me could've purchased more!
I would highly recommend visiting this place!

“Best cheese award goes to...”

This is a great friends, family, group, or even solo outing. In addition to the cows, there is a goat, and roosters. The owners are very hands-on, educating visitors about the cheese making process and clogs. You can buy custom clogs. Cards and euros accepted. Samples of the cheeses are given liberally. My favorites were the nut cheese, Italian, and garlic cheese. This cheese never expires..the good stuff. The prices are fair and they have sales too! Great gift idea for cheese lovers.

“Very pleasant trip”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Even though the farm is not directly in Amsterdam, it is definitely worth visiting. Just hop on the bus #170 at the Centraal Station and in approx. 40 mins you are there. Do not be scared to be a bit rude and just go in. There is no obvious entrance, so look for a tripadvisor sticker. The best thing is that there is not entrance fee and the staff is very friendly and chatty. You will definitely not leave without some cheese in your bag.

“Great time at the cheese & clog farm”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

My husband and I visited a few days ago. It was quite quiet when we went, only some kids in the kitchen making cheese, and a few staff members. At first we didn't know what to do, but a lovely red-headed young lady spent some time with us - she showed us a video of how clogs were made, then walked us through how the in-house Gouda cheese is made. She then took us to the store section and spent a lot of time showing us the different cheeses (we had lots of fun tasting the different flavours!) and giving us advice. We ended up with 3 big wheels of chilli-flavoured, pepper-flavoured and garlic and herb-flavoured cheese - yummy! We weren't there long (maybe just over an hour?) but had a great time. I can see what a previous reviewer means about it not being obvious where to go (tip: once you've parked, look out for a door with a tripadvisor sticker next to it - go through that door!) or what to do, but just ask and they will do something for you. We thought it was a fun and authentic experience and really enjoyed ourselves. It would be lots of fun for kids too (apparently they do birthday parties here - what a great idea)!
