Description: A simple, friendly and cosy restaurant with a rustic feel, where the food is prepared with love and passion. Honest and simple dishes with our "touch".As we use to say: "it's our own dinning-room were customers are friends".On Sundays we close at 20:00. Monday is the "day off". Thank you. PLEASE NOTE: we don't accept reservations via internet.

One of those examples where you can't believe you were eating at the same place as other reviewers who raved about it- perhaps the cook was off for the night (it was the day after it normally closed)! Or we chose the wrong items- though one was the tavern's speciality dish. Food mediocre and not generous portions- eg tired salad more a garnish. Enough said- but it was better than the sea-side restaurant of the night before!

well we went to restaurant after reading reviews on here.
we were stopping in monte mar palace about 10 mins drive away along the beautifull coast .
we booked a return taxi cost 30 euros but was worth it ,as driver left a card and the restaurant called him when finished
service great ,lovely kind people who made you feel at home
well we visited 2 times in the 7days at hotel
now about the food 1st night
garlic bread to die for best ever
then limpets ! think spelt wrong
king prawns starter
octopus main with salad and local maize fried cubes
prawn linguini main ,so many prawns
bottle water ,large beer ,bottle rose wine, cost 49 euro

the seasonings ,and flavours were fantastic ,I wish had this restaurant at home ,I live at Whitstable and it beats any of the seafood/oyster resturants here.!
my brother has took lots of photos of the food ,he will put them on here soon ,they will make your mouth water !

thanks again for 2 wonderfull meals ,and if ever I come back ,we will visit you in a flash!

We looked at the restaurants on the seafront that looked pretty much the same as each other and not particularly appealing. We turned the corner and came upon the Taberna. It looked the part and once we sat down we were greeted by Berto (apologies if spelling is incorrect,) who was so helpful and knowledgable. We ordered the tapas which was a great way to go - prawns and octopus tapas were divine. We certainly recommend both the food and the service.
