Salty Rose Beach Houses
Reviewed October 13, 2013

This is our third stay at the Salty Rose and will not be our last. Cottages are all beautiful and very well equipped. Bed is so comfy, you won't want to get out of bed. Located right on the beach, you can smell the ocean air and enjoy a lovely stroll. Fire in the evening is a perfect touch and excellent patio furniture on the enclosed deck is a perfect place to enjoy meals or a coffee. The only drawback is having to leave! This is our favourite vacation location and Nova Scotia's best kept secret!

What a perfect place! I stayed here for two nights for a girls weekend getaway. You could comfortably stay here for a very long time - everything you need is provided. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves at night, relaxed on the beach, and watched the moon rise over the bay. Absolutley idyllic! We had two cottages - the smaller one was showing a few signs of wear, but nothing that got in the way of us having an excellent time. Lots of towels & bedding, fully equipped kitchens, lawn furniture - everything you could possibly want. We were all a little sad to have to go home.

I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic trip, a trip with friends, or a family vacation. I can't wait to go back!!

We have stayed at the Salty Rose Beach Houses a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The cottages have everything you can ever need to cook your meals and comfort. If ever we need assistance Monica is there to help.
It's always a treat to stay for a few days.

Salty Rose Cottages has been a favorite spot of ours for many years. It is a great spot to relax and regenerate when we need a break from our hectic lives. The cottages are clean and well decorated. You can see the beach from each cottage and I think we have stayed in all them. We miss Shadow, he always greeted up when we arrived at the cottage. If you need a place to find yourself, listen to the waves and watch the beautiful sunsets this is the place for you. Bill, Judy and Monica do a great job at making you feel welcome, a true Nova Scotian treasure.

This was our second visit to this property, and it was just as wonderful as the first. Monica offers friendly and personal service that can't be beaten. Upon our arrival, the woodstove is all ready to go, and we had a selection of chocolates waiting. The cottages are immaculate, cozy, and nicely appointed. The view is lovely, and the sound of the waves on the beach is so incredibly relaxing. The assortment of kitchen utensils and cookware is excellent, and of high quality. We could quite comfortably not even leave our cottage, and this time, with the exception of one walk along the beach, we didn't due to cool temperatures and rain. But no bother, we had the jacuzzi bath, cozy fireplace and comfortable bead inside.

As I mentioned, this was our second visit (first one in Feb 2010), and it won't be our last. Folowing our September wedding, we plan to spend a few nights here prior to heading out on our honeymoom. I look forward to celebrating many more Valentine's days and wedding anniversaries at this peaceful, relaxing and romantic spot.

Room Tip: We have stayed in both the loft cottage and the two bedroom. I personally prefer the loft/1 room for...

The salty rose is a slice of heaven. This will be our 4th summer. The location is brilliant, with a sand bar ensuring that even the most timid of swimmers can enjoy some swimming. Lunenburg is fabulous and the farmer's market on thursday am is not to be missed. The cottages aren't large but they have what you need, and our 2 kids think of the cottage as theirs given the warm welcome and comfy greeting we receive each year....,

The Salty Rose has been one of our favorite Nova Scotian South Shore getaway destinations for a few years now. It's off the beaten path just enough to feel isolated but not so far away from amenities that you feel lonely. :)

We have only gone as a couple for romantic getaways but often remark how much our kids would enjoy the place. We call ahead when we go in the winter and they will turn on the heat for us and the wood stove is stocked and ready for a match when we arrive. The cottages are above average in decor and are rustic without scrimping on style or comfort. They are perfect little buildings with lots of charm and and have all the modern day conveniences. Being so close to the ocean is such a treat! We usually show up and fill the fridge full of ingrediants for a yummy supper. It's great to toast a purple sunset while listening to the waves.

The only part I don't love about The Salty Rose? Leaving.

Room Tip: We loved The Wild Rose cottage. Beautiful loft bedroom with balcony.
