My wife and I stayed here for one night on the 24th February 2013 in room 14, which is a double room on the first floor overlooking the car park. The reason to stay here is to visit" Le Mont saint Michel" which is clearly visible from the front of this property across the salt flats. To walk to the Mont car park is about 20 minutes (or drive and pay the 12 euros parking fee) where you can take the free scuttles to the base of the Mont.
We arrived at the Submerge around 13.30 hers to be told that our room wouldn't be ready until 16.00 hers. This seemed strange as on a Monday in February there weren't many rooms being used. There was however a coach party od Japanese tourists enjoying lunch. It seems that the Auberge caters for coach parties.
Disappointingly, when we arrived back at the prescribed 16.00 hers our room wasn't ready (What ?) and were offered a complementary drink while we waited the 40 minutes for our room to be serviced.
Our room was quite small and furnished in a "minimal corporate" style. The bathroom was poorly lit and had no window nor extractor fan - a major oversight in such a small room. There was neither soap nor shampoo left for customer use, another poor attention to customer service.
Our room was reached via an outside wooden staircase, from where we viewed the return of the Sheep flock from their salt marsh grazing which was a novelty and not the horrible smelly experience that other reviewers have posted. It's country life after all.
Our evening meal in the restaurant was a real disappointment. I chose the 24.50 euro set menu as this included a Salt Marsh lamb dish which turned out to be a "Lamb Surprise" dish as such a tiny amount of lamb was present. The plate of 3 lock cheeses was another disappointment, small or what?
Whether this Auberge has expanded too quickly or not (They have 38 rooms) does not excuse the very poor attention to customer service of this establishment. This is a shame as the front of house staff were helpful and considerate.
Would we stay here again? No.

Great location, great rooms and very good restaurant. We stayed here 1 night in December, we walked to the main bus station in the rain which took around 10 - 15 mins. The rooms are very large, clean and all have good internet access. The restaurant is very good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful with advice to travel. A perfect hotel to visit St Mont Michael

We did not stay at the hotel but visited the restaurant for dinner. The meal was very good and affordable, and the service was more than adequate. The pork chop with apples was delicious as well as the carrot soup. We especially liked the apple & pear crumble with toffee ice cream for dessert. I would highly recommend this stop for dinner if you are in that area and would have gone back a second time had we stayed longer.

We have stayed there for one night. The hotel is quite far from tourist information and bus station. You need to walk about 20 minutes. The room is clean with nice viewing. Hotel is near to the ranch, so you could smell it and I really don't like it.

This hotel is OK. Very close to Mont St Michel. If you opt for the breakfast, you'll find that it's pretty decent and reasonably priced. My room was OK and clean. Staff are friendly and many speak English. I spent only one night though.

This hotel is near the parking lot (you could even walk to it and save parking fees if you are able; its about 3/4 mile or so) from which busses take you to Mont St. Michel. We found the hotel reasonable in price, the staff friendly, and the meals very good. You might even see, as we did, around six in the evening the sheep brought back from pasture and running through the adjacent street. While the hotel is on a highway, you can ask for a room away from it to avoid traffic noise, although the traffic on the highway is light throughout the night anyway.

I wanted this to be a review commending the very young staff and complimenting the facilities and the food. But, such is not the case. Rooms were just adequate. Day beds passing as beds were ok. Young staff were not well trained, the food was mediocre at best, and THE PLACE WAS COVERED IN FLIES. I once operated a small cattle and large chicken operation and had fewer flies. It is possible to take preventive measures. These owners, however, chose not to do that. The staff seemed like a bunch of sweet boys and girls who were hired because the owners did not have to pay a lot in salaries -- or in training costs. That said, the kids were kind, and the location was very good.

Room Tip: look at other options.

Dear Sir,

Further to your comment about "Auberge de la Baie", we are surprised about your remarks on food and staff. Our restaurant serves a lot of home-made meals and our clients are satisfy by our food quality.
Our staff, even young staff, is qualified and well trained. However, be sure that your remarks will be transmitted to the direction.

Staying at your disposal,

Regards,
