M. Tizon is an excellent host and Les Blotteries is a wonderful place. There are horses, cats and dogs for the youngsters to enjoy, and friendly conversation, lovely rooms, excellent breakfasts and home made jam as well. A great start to our Brittany holiday.

I highly recommend Les Blotteries. We stayed here for one night while visiting Mont-St-Michel in June 2009. The proximity allowed us to see Mont-St-Michel at 10 PM, when it was quiet.

My entire family enjoyed this B&B, and we had reluctant teenagers (at first). M. Tizon is a wonderful, friendly host. You can practice your French. Or M. Tizon speaks good English. The historical mansion is beautiful. Room is nice and spacious for family of four. Try something different (rather than a hotel) and stay here. It will be one of the highlights of your trip.

For the history buffs, M.Tizon shares some WWII stories from his uncle.

We stayed there for two days, and everything was perfect. The warm and friendly Jean-Malo made our breakfast wonderful (in addition to the good French quality food). He was chatting n every morning and provided all type of maps, suggestions etc...Superb host. Regarding the cottage was nice, with an upstairs floor in case you travel with kids (it has one queen bed and a couple of single beds). The only caveat is that you need to drive anywhere, and there is not bathtub. Approx 10 min to Mont Saint-Michel
We would go back.

We are four Australians who stayed at les Blotteries on July 28, 2008 after a visit to Mont St Michel. We were late arriving and it was raining. Jean Malo hurried out to greet and assist us and was warm and generous in his hospitality. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. We also loved his cat!

Thank you Jean Malo

We arrived after a 5 hour drive with 2 small children to find a lovely warm welcome, a beautiful house and a fantastic room.

Good breakfast and a great nights stay!

We stayed at Les Blotteries with our two teenage children on our stop to Mont Saint Michel. The estate consists of a manor house dating back to the french revolution and converted stables and barn. The B&B rooms are not located in the main house.

Our room, Les écuries, has one queen size bed and toilet and shower on the main floor, and a very large loft with two twin beds.
The room is very comfortable and certainly large enough for a family. It is also very clean. There is no door to the shower room , which meant a bit of planning for us with teens of opposite genders. The room also has a musty smell. Probably unavoidable for such an old space.

The setting is fantastic as is the owner M. Tizon. We met him after our visit to the Mont. We asked him if we could walk the grounds and he promptly put his old dog Plume to work. Plume literally led us up the old grassed over road past cow pastures on a walk and then led us back. Our children will be talking about Plume for years.

Breakfast is the standard french offering served in the house at one large table. M. Tizon loves his house and has all sorts of intersting stories to tell. We would recommed the stay.

Going purely on a Tripadvisor recommendation I booked Les Blotteries directly from the website after seeing the excellent reviews and photos of the rooms. My family & I were not disappointed.

Monsieur Tizon, Madame Plume (le chien) & Mimi (le chat) were there to meet us on arrival and our son, aged 16 months, fell in love with the place - well the pets at least. We were of the same opinion after being shown to our room (La Colville). It sleeps a family of 4 (plus a baby - in an antique cot) and the bathroom is ensuite. The room itself is in the main house which has been fantastically restored - a la "Grand Designs" for those people familiar with the UK TV series.

Msr. Tizon is great - speaking French to you if you want or English if you struggle. The breakfast is continental style i.e. croissants, pain-au-chocolate, pain-au-raisin but his homemade jams are delicious, as is the local apple juice.

From the house there is a short walk to a view of Mont St Michel in the distance, where we had spent the day before arriving at Les Blotteries. Although we thought we had made the wrong choice not staying on the Mont itself as it is quite spectacular we definitely made the right decision staying at Les Blotteries as it is quiet, beautiful and the room is like nothing I have stayed in before.

Hats off to Msr. Tizon for a great stay in a lovely house. One warning if you are planning to stay with a baby. The cot has very low sides so if your little one is standing/crawling there is every chance they will try to "escape". It was not a problem for us as we had tired the wee fella out climbing the stairs on the Mont.

Another tip - don't take a pram into the Mont as there are more stairs than I can remember.
