This was my second visit to La Plissonnais. The first time flew over, this time I drove and brought my Mum and grandmother. The location makes it a great hub from which to explore Normandy and Brittany from - and it's just an hour and half from Cherbourg.
From the moment we arrived, Jon made sure we had everything we needed and gave useful advice and tips whenever I needed it. My grandmother is partially disabled so we need to plan what we do in advance and finding the best routes, parking and opening hours is really important. The location is idilicic and peaceful. We've already scheduled next May's visit.
An excellent stay for an extended family group. The pool was a big hit. Plenty of room for everyone. Jon is very obliging and a great chef. Hardly bothered moving from the house as it was so relaxing.
We were a family group of 12 ranging in age from 64 to 8, plus a dog. Nanny and Grandad stayed in the annex - so quiet and peaceful and we slept like tops. The rest of the family - 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 5 children stayed in the beautiful main house. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to go round. Massive living room with plenty of seating, U.K. TV via Freesat and a library of films to keep you amused. We all spent most of our time in the huge garden playing football or rounders or in the pool, which the kids loved. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook for a big group and a large table which easily seated us all. There was also a great BBQ area with outdoor seating, which we used a couple of times.
Jon, the owner cooked for us, by default on arrival, with a tapas feast and then again on our last night when we chose from the a la carte menu. He did a great job - fabulous food and great value for money. I would definitely recommend you do this at least once during your stay.
Jon's lovely dog Henry was loved by kids, adults and dog alike - very friendly, happy dog.
If I manage to round up the whole family again next year we would definitely return to La Plissonnais.
We had a fantastic week at Le Plissonnais. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. We were a family group of us ( the grandparents) our 3 children and partners along with 2 grandchildren aged 4 and nearly 1.
Everything was very child friendly and there was lots of space to relax and eat both inside and out. We had lovely weather the whole week so spent a lot of time in the garden. The children loved the pool.
We visited beaches at Granville and Carolles, the waterfalls at Mortain and the castle at Fougeres. There were many varied activities in the area including the park at St Hilaire which had a good playground.
Jon was a great host and cooked us a fantastic meal one evening. Henry was loved by us all and often pottered by to say hello.
We would thoroughly recommend La Plissonnais and would love to return.
This is a beautiful house set in the most beautiful French countryside. The owners are lovely happy to help with anything that you should need! This included helping when my car sprung a leak. The house is massive a really good space for big group holidays lots of bedrooms over 2 floors with plenty of bathrooms. Downstairs you have a good size kitchen with a big enough table for all to sit. There is 2 ovens and a big hob and every utensil needed under the sun! Lounge is a big size with a telly using English satellite. Outside the pool is a little chilly but perfect for us a BBQ and seating area are just what we needed whilst staying. Finally the dog is lovely never annoying. Brilliant holiday I loved it and want to come back
