This was the first time I had stayed at a Chambre d'Hote and I was very impressed. The room is the same standard as a good hotel with ensuite etc and a much lower cost particularly as it includes a good breakfast. Free parking and near Jumieges, an important ancient abbey site, and also near the Seine and Rouen, and a short drive from Dieppe. Madame also serves a set Normandy cuisine evening meal which starts with an aperitif, followed by a four course meal and wine or cider and coffee. All cooked by Madame and really good authentic cooking. Also I sat at the table with the other guests so it was very interesting and entertaining. I would stay there again and highly recommend the Au Temps des Cerises.

We stopped here overnight on the way home from Brittany having read other reviews. Unfortunately we can't really add anything to these, uniformly excellent, comments. The rooms are spotless and well equipped, meals are enjoyable and unique and Mme Houelle a wonderful hostess. Our only additional comment concerns getting there as the best route is not clear -beacuse Jumieges is in a bend of the River Seine 'Route Finder' websites and Sat Navs can't agree on whether to arrive from the North or the South. We chose the southern approach using one of The Bacs - the little ferries that cross the river at regular intervals - and enjoyed this although we didn't expect not to be charged for this trip.

We have lost count as to the number of times that we have stayed with Francoise. As usual the room was clean and very comfortable. The best thing about staying here is the food. Francoise never ceases to amaze me as to how she cooks and plates up the food in front of you chatting away to guests. She is still an outstanding cook using the best ingredients that Normandy has to offer.

There has been so much praise heaped on this lovely B&B and it is not in the least misplaced. We stayed here for one night on our way from Cherbourg to Cologne as our stop over. The evening meal was just stupendous (and we met some very nice guests as well) and the great breakfast was not typically French! The rooms are really they way they are described. It is also peaceful, being just outside the village. The abbey is worth a visit, the ferry trip is delightful, it is a great base to tour Normandy and also to visit Rouen. Of course, some knowledge of French helps, but it is absolutely not necessary! The welcome is genuine and warm.

We stayed here for one night, Francoise was really lovely and very welcoming, she cooked us an evening meal which was excellent. Our room was very clean and not a bad size, shower room very clean and roomy, decorated to a modern style, we had a TV and WiFi, and Tea & Coffee facilities, which is unusual in France. We will be staying here again and would highly recommend. Also the area is very pretty, along side the River Seine.

We stayed at Au Temps des Charises for three nights in September (I suspect we were the Australian couple discussed in "Rural Perfection"). This place is a real eye opener for the quality and comfort of our stay. Our room was modern, clean and had good quality complimentary WiFi. Francoise is an amazing host who exudes warmth and charm (she speaks only French although this did not seem to cause any difficulty with other English only speaking guests - her hand signals are good!). Her meals are perfect and delicious.

The Jumieges location just a little away from the actual town centre is good if used as a base (as we did) for the area where there is so much to see. It is very handy for local eateries.

Well worth the stay and we will most definitely come again.

We overnight-ed at this most excellent establishment, and would gladly have stayed longer.

On arrival after a fairly long day's drive we were greeted warmly by Francoise, shown to our very nice looking room, and, before we knew it, established in the garden with a bottle of home brewed cider - this is Normandy, after all.

The room was of a decent size, comfortable, pleasantly decorated and furnished, and with good en suite facilities, including a good shower.

We took a walk into the hinterland, before the evening meal. This is a very pleasant part of France.

The evening meal, served at a communal table, was memorable.
Francoise enjoys cooking, and it shows.
I don't really like courgettes, but when they are served, as a starter, cooked with Camembert plus a little Emmental - give me more!
And the rest of the meal was superb.
Very tender duckling as a main course, and pancakes with caramelised apple as a sweet. Mmmm!

The other guests were an Australian couple, and a young Dutch couple whose car looked as though they were a Rock Group advertising themselves. In fact they were Scout organisers, advertising a charity event.
It was a very interesting, and enjoyable, evening.

Any reader who might have doubts about being put on a table with total strangers should put their hesitation aside. We have done this many times in Chambres des Hotes, and have never been disappointed.

The pricing, here, was all-in.
All drinks were included, including a glass of 'Calva'.
Fortunately this was a small glass. It seems that 'Calva' is related, probably illegally, to Calvados. Interesting!

We arrived in Jumiege from the West and had wondered whether to make a detour to avoid the ferry over the Seine.
We had decided to 'risk' it and were pleased to have done so. No queues and a pleasant short trip - free of charge, surprisingly.
The ferry runs on a twenty minute schedule for most of the day, but the times can readily be found on-line.

This was a memorable en route stopover and it is locked into my systems for future reference.
I cannot speak too highly of it.
Enjoy!!

Room Tip: I wouldn't worry about it!
