What a beautiful beach this must have been before the advent of mass tourism. It is looking scruffy around the edges and has become an extension of the walking street tourist shops and restaurants and is very crowded. Sadly the bay is full of so many boats that it does not feel safe to swim. Apparently it also has the best coral for snorkelling here (impossible to enjoy) and it will be damaged by the boat anchors and pollution from the boats. There is also ceaseless noise pollution from these boats. There were also 4 ugly barges stationed right on the front of the beach, disgorging their cargo of building materials with front-end loaders (the over development continues). Such a shame they can't have a port area for the boat traffic.
The water still looks clear and the sand still white but for how long?
