We travelled through Thailand and stayed at a few of places - but Bila Beach was the one we compared all the places to and could not find anything that nearly matched the wonderful location and ambiance of Bila beach! The people are down to earth and friendly, the beach is beautiful and the way they preserve the natural beauty of its surroundings is just amazing! The bungalows are made out of Bamboo and hides between the trees. It is simple yet elegant and I loved watching the sunset from the shower. The location is also perfect - it is hidden away from the crowds, but it is just a 10 minutes walk to Pattaya beach if you do feel like something else. I would recommend Bila beach to anyone that plans to go to Ko Lipe - It was just wonderful!

Loved the beach, the food, the very laid back attitude of Peter and Tam (Emily is off the scene?)
Maybe it was because OH was recovering from a tummy bug when we arrived, but the rock hard bed, crowd of mozzies, backing up drain, and lack of a/c just did not work for us in the bungalow, as it was really hot and humid. I also found the steep and very uneven steps a trial, especially in the dark, but maybe I'm just getting too old! Oh and if you're an early riser (8 ish) then get yourself some coffee cus breakfast could be sometime coming. All part of the charm.
This is not to say the guys didn't try to mend some of these prob's but we decided to change venue and did not regret it.
Have to say, really loved the overall beach and ambience, and spent most of next day
there, food pricier than nearer to walking street but very very good.
Wish the guys here well, and I know they have plenty of ideas in the pipeline, but don't want to spoil the place.
Dooley.

Bila is a freakin' gem. I would never have found it, had my friend not stayed there the year before. They were booked when we called, but he went by anyway, and it turned out someone had cancelled, so we were in luck! This place was beyond perfect - completely isolated from all the Pattaya drunkenness, with its own perfect little beach, complete with free snorkelling gear and kayak (plus lots of awesome snorkelling the moment you step in the water). We spent most of our time in the water (or on our patio looking at it), splashing around or kayaking over to Adong island to find our own little beach and hike around.

The place is gorgeously designed, obviously built with love, and with privacy in mind (unlike most places on the island, the bungalows aren't crammed together, but nestled in the trees and facing away from one another). Outdoor showers, big, luxurious beds with high-quality netting, and carved coconut shell lamps make this place magical both day and night. The owners/staff are super chill and friendly, the food is great, and - yeesh, I'm going to start crying soon. lol

We spent the awesomest New Year's Eve there (watching fireworks at Pattaya beach, then setting off our own with the owners on the beach at Bila!), and had to move after about 10 days, since more forward-thinking people had reserved the place. Boy, did we not know how good we'd had it! We spent a couple of vaguely uncomfortable nights at Pooh's and a couple of horrific nights at Cafe Lipe, before finding Jack's Jungle and feeling at home again. One of Jack's best features? Just a short walk to Bila, so we could go have yummy dinner and drinks and coddle our favorite puppy on the island. Oh, and another bizarrely unique feature? They seem to be the ONLY place on all of Koh Lipe aside from Pooh's with wireless internet, and, unlike Pooh's, theirs is free!

I love Jack's Jungle to death, but, given the choice, would only ever stay at Bila if I could. The place is frickin' perfect. Thanks, guys! We love you and hope to see you again soon!

Bila Beach Resort is without a doubt the best place at Kho Lipe. The staff are, besides the beautiful bungalows, settings and beach, what makes this place so wonderful. They are just great. We had rain our entire stay at Bila Beach but it really didn´t matter. The food here is the best, and the drinks are lovely so just spending time in the bar eating and drinking was good enough for us.

Well, I actually stayed at this wonderful place about 1 year ago and I have been wishing to go back. We found it by pure chance when we tried to find a secluded beach not on the map, and we are so lucky we did.
Most of what Bila offers has been covered already and I am lazy so I won't go into that, but let me just say that this place was special to me not just because of the private beach, great homecooked food (honestly it is just like a good friends is making you dinner/breakfast), or the cute rooms; it's the people who run it. Emily and Tam were some of the kindest, warmest people you have ever met.
This place is so much better than the touristy, fake, overpriced, places on the other side of the beach which are all the same.
Do yourself a favor if you are going to the islands in Thailand, go to Koh Lipe, and say hi to Emily and Tam for Kevin and Air at Bila Beach Bar, Bungalow and Bistro.

We stayed at Bila Beach for 4 nights in November and we wished we'd stayed for longer. From the moment we arrived at Bila Beach we felt instantly at home. Emily and Tam who own and run Bila Beach are fabulous, attentive hosts and have built a gorgeous, intimate, relaxing resort. The bungalows have been built with care and attention to detail - they are a cut above the rest, with large main rooms, comfy beds and outside bathrooms. There are some lovely touches such as the 4 poster bamboo beds, the handmade wooden lanterns and shell decorations around the sink. The private, boulder strewn beach is kept clean and there is fantastic snorkling just off the shore. The restaurant offers excellent home cooked food and the funky bar serves superb cocktails - you must try a pina colada - delicious! The bamboo bar has a great atmosphere and you can exchange travelling tales with fellow holiday makers whilst watching the sunset, sipping a chang beer and listening to chilled music. We would recommend Bila beach to couples and independant travellers - it's a taste of paradise and you won't be dissapointed! Many thanks for looking after us Emily and Tam! Love, Kate & Dan x

Having recently returned from our world trip, here is the review for the Bila Beach...

Bila Beach is little pocket of paradise. this was our first taste of Thailand having arrived from Malaysia by boat. What a beautiful place awaited us. Arriving by long tail boat transfer from the main beach, we were greeted by the guys at Bila and began to relax at their beach bar, with a chilled out vibe, ice cold beers and good company. We were then led to our bamboo bungalow perched in the hillside, which was a beatiful, newly built rustic accommodation with outdoor toilet and shower! The hospitality at Bila is fantastic, and we enjoyed some delicious home cooked food including some of the biggest prawns we have ever seen! We paid slightly more than other accomodation on the island, but this place was well worth it! It was only a few minutes walk to the main beach too, and some of the best snorkelling around!
