“ok for the price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

Superior bungalow was smaller from expectations. But overall is comfortable. A bit pricey for the size of the room. The resort is too commercialised, no live band/music at nite. Location is good. But the beach is full of rocks during evening, thus not ideal for swimming, but maybe for snorkelling. Water is crystal clear.
Overall is ok only.

Really disappointed with their ''Superior bungalow'' room. The picture online was totally MISLEADING. Old, unkept, dirty bathroom, air con was not working, pretty much sums up the room.

To add to our misery, the breakfast was terrible, poor choices and the dining area was full of flies and just unhygienic all round! Don't stay here, it's not worth the price you pay -- definitely better off elsewhere.

We booked a superior bungalow. Found it was maybe 12 square meters, including the bathroom. Bed was ok. Clean sheets. Airconditioning working well. Staff VERY UNFRIENDLY. Breakfast awful.
If you want to go here as a couple, then consider another place. All the bungalows are very close together, you can hear the neighbors coughing (and more) and in the morning people make their way to breakfast walking past your bungalow. The walls are so thin and the path is so close to your bed that you will definitely be disturbed.

I just stayed there for 3 nights. Very expensive for what you get. I had the honeymoon villa. It looks really nice on arrival, but its the little things that really disappointed me. First of all, since you are right on the beach, it is imperative that there should be a bucket of water upon entering the room so you can rinse your feet. I've stayed in bungalows that's were 4000 baht a night that had the common sense to have that. I asked the housekeeping for one, and she had no clue what I was talking about. They spoke no English a tall. It's also nearly impossible to walk on the deck to get into the room because its burning hot, hence the water bucket...could have helped.
The bathroom shower area was very nice, there were candles the first night, I lit them and no one bothered to replace them the entire stay. The reception area looks very old and dirty and the staff isn't friendly at all. It's like they are almost mad that you are disturbing their peace by asking questions.
Breakfast was very poor for someone Who is paying $300 a night in Thailand.
In all, if you don't mind the imperfections, then stay at the villas. The building is gross. The resort itself has no personality or vibe.

Room Tip: If you are in koh lipe, then stay at Mali resort

We had bungalow with extra bed. Decoration was very nice, ac and fan worked well. Staff were not very friendly, they were okay.. Bungalow was not very clean, there were spiderwebs and sand. Still it was cozy and sleep quality was good. Location was in the Pattaya beach which is almost full of longtailboats but they have own sunchairs and little area where you can swim. Breakfast was really bad... Almost everything was finish (9.00 am) and quality was poor. You can do cashwithdrawal there, comission fee is 5%. You get only one wifi password per room, another cost 250bht/day. They have minimart in the reception, also pool table in the restaurant.

We often do this crazy thing (mind your dirty mind!) we take a Friday night flight to Langkawi (brown sand, bad food) stay over night in the stunningly communist style airport hotel, get up a the crack of dawn (I said DAWN) and take a ferry to the small Thai island of Koh Lipe (white sand, amazing food, good people).

And when we do dear listener, we always stay at Budhaya. Why? I ask you think (I have VERY good hearing). I'll tell you why. It's on the best beach. It has really cute rooms (cabins with decks and sometimes outdoor showers) and it has the best food. Ga Prow Moo (Mince pork with holy basil), Som Tam (papapya salad) and Kua Gling (southern style minced meat with chili, lime leaf and spices) are to DIE FOR (although I am sadly still alive - life as they say, is suffering)...

The breakfast at this joint is also killer. Khao Tom (rice soup NOT confee which is like albino-phlegm) is available, my personal fave. As is a pseudo western breakfast.

Now, it's a bit tricky getting a sunbed on the beach, for they're aren't many, but the sand is like laying in talcum powder so you'll be ok.

Walking street a, er, short walk away. Stay here. It's simple. And you can sit and smirk at the 100 tourist dragging their wheelies 500 metres on the beach because some other hotel might just have hot running water... whatevs.

THe resort is located on the main beach, right beside the immigration.

I first stayed in the standard air-cond room. Walls made of thin ply wood. Rooms were clean, but a bit too basic for my liking, even if the neighbours walk or closed their doors, you can feel the vibrations. Basically right at the back of the resort.

Then we moved to the superior bungalow, which was much much better. For me, that would be the minimum room class i would stay if I were to come here again. However, breakfast was nothing to shout about, as the food tasted average.

The massage was good though, and the rates are the same as other places around the island, except that it was beach front!

I would not return to this hotel because there are just too many nice resorts to try out on this island, and I might give the ones on sunrise beach a go.

Room Tip: Stay at least in the bungalows, for more privacy. The standard rooms are just too thin and basic.
