“Exhausting”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Went for a short walk to see what birds we could see and spent best part of two hours walking. Entered from Beeston lock end and therefore did not get to the touristy bits of Cafes and Ice Cream sellers but had a very pleasant and peaceful time. Shame about being continually on the lookout for cyclists (why can't they use the bell occasionally).

“Reflection, information, relaxation”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Visted here on a Tuesday afternoon. Well sign posted. Well maintained car park . The centre is very much geared up to provide educational insights into conservation and habitat - it's pitched at more than one level so accessible to all ages.
The terrain is flat and manageable for buggies and wheelchair users (on the whole). However, both walking routes on offer are quite long. That said, there are ample places to stop and sit along the way of both. Points of interest have signs and information to match, as well as details of how to access audio information via mobile phone. Segregation of cyclists and pedestrians needs attention I feel, as sometimes it does feel a bit like a rat run.
The cafe facility is excellent, and whilst on the surface it appears a little expensive - when you see the size of the portions on offer it is worth the investment for a treat. It is somewhere I would visit again with family and friends, as it provides an array of photographic opportunities, the chance to appreciate natural plant development and wildlife preservation.

“Don't Believe the Hype”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

If you want to walk and look a whole lot of bramble, then this is the place for you as there's not much else on offer. Also, be on the lookout for the many cyclists who will attempt to mow you down especially on paths that are very narrow and are clearly marked as non-cycling routes. The area around the shop was the nicest of the entire area. Never made it to the marina or anywhere else as it was a long walk all the while looking not a flowers or bushes or trees, but bramble and stinging nettles and grass and water and bramble. Did I mention there was a lot of bramble? Anyway, it was boring. There are far nicer places to go for a walk than here.

“eco friendly”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Attenborough visitors centre is a great place to come, the food is superb and is sourced from local suppliers. The views are stunning as you sip your tea latte or elderflower cordial. Buy some inexpensive bird food yo feed the ducks and swans around the centre, or buy some interesting gifts like bird boxes and chirping birds.
