“Authentic food”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Food quality is superb, very traditional Turkish, Crete food. The food and mezes are top quality, ambiance is superb. But the owner has some temper. She doesn't like to smile a bit. In addition mezes are really good, main dish go with the slow cooked lamb, meatballs with cinnamon was much better at Uno at Cunda island. You may skip the desserts as well pumpkin cake and brownie. Nothing special there.

“Great homecooked Turkish”
Reviewed April 10, 2014

We've had a lot of OK Turkish on our trip but Aska Yapragi hit the spot. Real, homecooked meals to chose from. Great for vegetarians as almost all their meze are veggie. Cute tables away from the main drag makes it pleasant to sit outside. The service was friendly and attentive. The local herbs and greens dishes were particularly special. We had brownie for desert which was disappointing. I would highly recommend in comparison to the glitz and over-price of much of alacati

“Tasty, but a bit pricey”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

We ate at this restaurant two days in a row. The food was very tasty and the service was good. The first day we simply chose a few veggie dishes from the kitchen before going upstairs to the seating area. I think they cook the same dishes every day, of course this isn't a problem if you're only going to eat there once. My husband and I especially like the lamb and pumpkin dishes. The lamb was the best I've ever eaten, so tender that it practically melts in your mouth. It's a cute little place.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

I've been in Turkey for 5 days now, trying different restaurants from simple to luxury ones. I can say this is the best meal so far. The ambiance is cozy and charming. The food, which you choose from the kitchen table (actually a good thing here in a country where communication in English is so difficult) is really excellent, with 5 or 6 selections of mezzé and 3 or 4 choices o main dish. Very tasty and made with fresh ingredients. Although this is mainly a simple cuisine, the dishes were quite refined in taste. Really a must when in Alaçati.

“At last”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

During summer it was almost impossible to get a table but last week we finally managed to book a table for six. Instead of using a menu card they invite you to the kitchen and you choose from the table where they place that day's selection. I always find it more appropiate choosing from the counter where I can see what I will get rather than guessing from a card.
We tried several dishes and a local red wine and they were good but not good enough to justify the overwhelming interest people show for this restaurant.
