All I have to say it was a great suggestion.

We were a party of six and we all had something different to eat and not one complaint about the food or the service from any one at our table .

From begging to end it was great well worth the trip out to Hudson

We were there June 3 2013

Do you need a place to relax and forget about it all? The Willow Place Inn and Restaurant and Bar will take your stress away! Just find a table on the terrace or inside by the window and watch the Oka Ferry criss-cross the Lake of Two Mountains! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food is delicious. My friend and I stopped in for a nice lunch and quiet conversation and we were greeted by friendly smiles and kind words. The lady of the house even stopped by to ask if we were happy with everything. You can't beat the view from the window! Count the times the ferry passes by, watch the water ripple by the shoreline and you'll forget all about the stress of everyday life! Isn't that what we all want?
If you are fortunate enough to be able to spend an overnighter or a few days in one of their beautiful rooms upstairs or at the Annex across the street, you'll feel like you've stepped back into a time when life was simpler and quaint. The rooms are decorated tastefully and comfortably and each one has a colour scheme all it's own. Only a few minutes from the little village of Hudson, there is a lot to do within a few kilometres...i.e. Finnigan's Flea Market on Saturdays, cute little boutiques and achoice of restaurants, a Village Theatre that offers a variety of entertainment throughout the year, golfing, boating, and hiking!
Don't forget to reserve ahead of time! This is a very popular destination!

We were disappointed on our last visit to the Willow Inn.We have been dining here for the last 30 years and I guess "All good things come to an end".The New Willow Inn is quite expensive. We used to come here for lunch & dinner between 10 and 15 times annually as a couple or with several friends. The last two years only a few times for the nostalgia and the beautiful view overlooking the Lake of Two Mountains. The menu no longer offers favorites like the carrot soup, half chicken, and the dessert selection is limited and tastes "store bought".The service is not as cordial as it once was,but acceptable. The food is slightly above average. We're disappointed as this used to be our favorite restaurant and would have always rated it a five until the recent changes.Oh well !!!

I was disappointed on my last visit to the Willow Inn. New owners since last time I went there for lunch. Found prices quite expensive, was not offered lunch specials, only the standard menu and a la carte menu - View is excellent overlooking Lake of Two Mountains but too pricey for what I was served - hamburger steak with baked potatoes, no soup, no dessert. I'm disappointed as this used to be my favorite summer restaurant :-( With wine and tip $50 for one person. Too expensive for hamburger steak :-(

This restaurant/pub/Auberge, has been a local landmark for over a century. Many years ago, the old building with all its charm of uneven walls and floors burned to the ground. It was lovingly restored and reconstructed it it's exact former image by the then owner. Over the past few years, the restaurant declined in food quality and became less popular with locals but still retained the charm of it's lake setting and English Pub atmosphere. New owners took over recently and have worked hard to transform the food quality issue. This restaurant is now back on solid footing and will be a great place to visit for tarvelers and locals alike.
The menu has changed and offers a good selection of items from burgers (the famous Willow Burger) to Prime Rib, as well as seafood and pasta dishes.
I had the Mussles with fries and it was excellent. My partner had Smoked Salmon and the other guests had Baked Salmon and Ribs. All were excellent. House wine (red and white) was very good and reasonably priced. The wine list includes an extensive list of moderate to expensive wines for those who like the high end wines.
Service is good. The staff has changed somewhat, but service was never an issue even under the old management.
The setting is fabulous in all seasons. In winter you are inside with the roaring fire looking out over a typical Quebec winter scene of the Ottawa river and Oka in the distance. In summer you have the same view but sitting out doors on the beautifull terrace.
The Auberge is located outside Montreal, Canada in the villiage of Hudson. This may prove to be a hindrance to visitors who are without a car as public transport to Hudson is limited. It would be about a $100 dollar cab ride from Montreal and same return.
