Pitched up here on one of our many unplanned travels in India, having been handed on by another fabulous and special hotel/home. What a dream. A dismantled small Keralan palace, transported and rebuilt high up in the Palani Hills. If you think you have seen it all in India, come here and fall into a state of grace. Everywhere beautiful things; fabrics and textures and colours and lighting and sculptures and books and music.... even the bathroom door handles are lovely. Gorgeous beds, softest pillows, enchanting birdsong, comfortable generous hammocks, creative cooking, no problem too difficult for the charming lunghi-clad Robie to solve, enticing walks amongst coffee, pepper and lemon plantations. Feels personal and close; you really want to contribute something to its loveliness. We bound some books from the excellent library and shall look forward to doing more of that when we go back again.
