It has a lot to offer and lot to see. View from the top is extremely nice, my rating on 10: Overall: 7.5, architecture: 8, Interior decoration: 8, furniture: 7, Garden: nil, views around: 9, historical importance; 7.5.

What a beautiful place!! There's a castle fee and it costs extra to go inside, but there's lots of great areas included in the general fee where you can walk around and get the most gorgeous photos. There's a shuttle bus or you can hike up, which some crazies were doing. We hiked down and it was pretty steep. The castle is in excellent condition. There are a couple of souvenir shops, a formal restaurant inside the castle and a more casual cafe outside on the castle grounds. We ate at the cafe and the food was typical German, so therefore good!! There's a lot of history so if you are into that you probably should take the guided tour. I saw one person in a wheelchair but it would be hard to tour this place if you are physically handicapped.

We went to see the castle on a foggy day but was mesmerized by the views from the top. I guess on sunny days it will be really wonderful. Our 5 year old daughter was very excited. From the outside the castle really looks like a fairy tale castle. If you have visited the Neuschwanstein castle and liked it, you are sure to appreciate this one too. Although we didn't go inside this time, we liked it so much, we are determined to visit again.

Gorgeous castle on top of a hill. With a family, including 2 girls, 4 and 6 who enjoyed the tour inside. Was second time there and again had a lot of mist so not a very good view from the castle. Guided tour is worth it to see the rooms inside which I missed the first time around. But you don't see a whole lot but interesting to hear about the history of German royalty with the impressive reception room family tree on the walls/ceiling.

Treasury room is interesting, thought it was small for the size of the castle. The current castle owner Prince was in attendance but we only saw his car. Stunning architecture but sad that we missed the view.

If you are not up for the walk up the hill, then take the shuttle up and walk down. But not if you have a big stroller because there are steps. Shuttle trip is 5 minutes.

We were there on Easter weekend but they didn't seem to have any special activities - although they did have an exhibit in one of the towers with easter paraphernalia on each floor but spent maybe only 10 mins exploring the 3 or 4 floors.

The castle is an easy drive from Stuttgart and well worth it for the stunning view from the castle's bastions.

We took the english tour and while our guide was delightful. Be prepared, for the size of the castle very few rooms are open for tours, but a visit to the Treasury made up for that. Be sure you explore the casements beneath the castle and the "secret passage".

The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the outdoor cafe was VERY overpriced. Instead, bring a small picnic and eat on the bastions.
