We were recommended this place by a New Yorker while we were at the Taito Geysers. Given New Yorkers are not ones to go overboard about eating experiences outside of their city, his glowing recounting of his experience set us booking in for lunch as part of a day wine touring in the Casablanca Valley. Mr Botha was there to welcome us on arrival and proceeded throughout our time in the restaurant to be the most attentive host, recommending food and wine for our tastes, regaling us with stories of his time in Chile and sharing with us exclusive wines from his contacts throughout the Casablanca valley. The food was superb, the matching wines remarkable and the service impeccable with the two hour experience one of the most memorable in our month long visit to Chile. After having tasted a wine where only 7 barrels were made that year we were starting to worry about the bill. But in true style of the place the bill was impressively low for the experience. If you love food and wine and are looking for a fantastic experience in Chile then this is the place to go. We New Zealanders have high standards for wine and food and have to concede this was one out of the box.
