A typical Ryokan of many years ago. In the small village of Ryujin stretching along the river A long drive from most places along winding roads through the Mountains in the centre of the Kii Peninsula. Rooms are well equipped in Japanese Style.
Excellent meals with many small dishes including fish and meat as well as many vegetables, some known others from the mountains. Breakfast enough to last most of the day. Staff are attentive and take care to make you welcome. Little English is spoken.
There are Onsen Baths for males and females separately and a mixed Rotenburo overlooking the River.
We spent 3 nights there and visited the local attractions, but these are not so exciting, most places are a long drive away. Koya San although only 47 km away is a hard drive though the mountains. Better to relax and enjoy the Onsen or walk.More
