Hotel Kirara Resort Kanku
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Instead of staying in town this time we went to an intermediate location a bit closer to the airport. It was slightly more annoying to get to the hotel using the train system, but in the end a shuttle took us to the hotel. For a decent price, we got a nice room on the 10th floor with a splendid view over the bay (see picture). Everything was very functional and clean, the bed and mattress very comfy, the bathroom has all that's needed and more. There is apparently no wifi, but I could plug the computer into the wall outlet and that worked fine, so just don't forget your RJ45 cable if you go there. A huge downer was that the restaurants close at 10PM so if you miss that, you're stuck with the snack dispensers..

Room Tip: get a room high up such as to get the nicest view!

We spoke to the hotel before we booked and confirmed a courtesy lift to the airport the following day, they said yes and that it wouldn't be a problem at all - when we arrived in the hotel , which is in the middle of no where , we were first disappointed when they told us the restaurant was closed - it was only 7 and the sign of the door said it didn't close until 9. We tried locally to find food with great disappointment then went back to the hotel and ate 7/11 chocolate - woke up the next morning to be told we missed the only two shuttle busses that leave to the airport - I can understand lots of confusion with language barriers but this was a nightmare because of a poor website and bad management

We checked into a room with Leaking Bathtub which flood the whole bathroom, soaking almost half the bedroom carpet. If my spouse had not discovered the water ozing out of the bathroom when im taking my shower, our luggages and belongings on the floor would had gone all wet and perhaps spoiled. When contacted, instead of apologising and immediately settling us into a clean and dry room, only a male receptionist was sent up with bunch of towels concentrating in cleaning the bathroom while we watched in puzzle. When my husband ask if we can change room, a Shocking answer was given by the receiption - NO !!!! When asked again in simple english, the answer was still a - NO! Very annoyed and upset, we ring up the Duty Floor Manager and finally after a long and wet 20mins wait, we were given a room. As we dragged our luggages and items out of the wet room, the male receiptionist simply stand by the door watching us, no assistance of any sort-not even helping to hold the door for us.
The stay in this hotel was the WORST Experience that i ever had in all my years of travel. Would Definately not recommend anybody or going to stay in this Sunroute Kanku Hotel ever in my life ! Will share to all later the PICTURES of the Flooded room with the Face of the receiptionist with the Worst Attitudes.

Nice, compact hotel with good breakfast buffet (extra). We got their free shuttle at the airport, which took exactly 20 minutes. We took it back to the airport the next morning to catch a JR train. You could always stay at the airport, but it'll cost you twice as much. It was worth it to us to do it this way. Caution: Have some yuen handy if you want to get a bite to eat once you arrive at the hotel. Nothing around there that we could charge to our card was open, took our credit cards or changed our US Dollars. That night we had Nutrageous candy bars and tea for dinner. It was really OK, but may not be what you have in mind. Shuttles to Kansai airport go only at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 AM. Shuttles to the hotel are only for a few hours in the evening as far as I know. However, this all worked for us. (P.S.You'll never regret having a few candy bars tucked away in your luggage.)
