“Excellent stay!”
Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

We had stayed at this hotel at the end of April for a couple nights. The whole area is so beautiful inside out. We really like the outdoor balcony overlooking the golf course and the ocean. The room is clean. The service is great. We had afternoon tea in the lobby area and it was really good. We also had a couple dinners there and they were really good as well. The only suggestion that I have is that some of their staff could continue to work on their English since this is such an international hotel with people coming from all over the world. For most staff, their English is really good!

Overall I would definitely strongly recommend this hotel for people to visit Okinawa. It's way more beautiful and relaxing to stay there vs any hotel inside Naha city.

There are a few hotels in Nago to choose. Among them, Ritz Carlton is one of the latest hotels which opened last year and thus we picked them over JW Marriott.
Prior to arrival, I have already had email back and forth with the reservations which has been very helpful.

It has been a long way from Naha to Nago by bus and we arrived by taxi from the bus station. Upon arrival, the doorman was very friendly with smiles helping us with luggage. Then we were escorted to the front desk where I could notice the sincere smile from the female receptionist from far end. She was Hirota who was very professional and helpful during our stay. Welcome drink and hot towel were provided which suit us well as we were indeed tired after long journey.
Hirota provided us with direction to different places and got us ticket to Aquarium with 10% discount.

Though room was not ready by then (around 13:XX), we decided to go out and return later.
Finally we returned at around 22:XX. Luggage was already placed in room prior to our arrival. I was so glad to have a room with king bed (as rooms with king beds were fully booked upon reservations) and on high floor.

Room was spectacular with balcony. King bed (which was made up of two single beds placing next to each other) was simply huge for two of us. Bathroom was quite spacious and bathtub did enjoy a nice bay view from it. Bath amenities used Asprey which was new to me. While we were hungry for dessert because we did not have it at dinner, a dessert plate with five cakes and pastries were placed on desk. What a delight! iPod touch was available with docking so we could listen to a selection of music including Okinawa ones.

Though next morning we were a bit late for breakfast, we managed to enjoy a big feast. While it was almost 10:30 which the breakfast ended, they did refill the food even 15 min before the end time. This was definitely rare in restaurants serving buffet breakfast.

Since we checked in late last night, we asked for late check out so we could enjoy the facilities in the hotel. Generously enough, 13:00 was offered. So we ended up visiting the jacuzzi, indoor and outdoor pools as well as the gym. They extended our check out time further to 14:00 as we were enjoying the facilities.

Before we went down to check out, I called to inquire about the bus from JW Marriott back to Naha. The Concierge in return suggested me to the bus back to Naha airport since it was only 5-10 minutes by monorail from the city centre and the bus was express one so to skip some of the stops. We were happy to accept the suggestion. By the time we reached the reception, the concierge whom we spoke on the phone proactively offered us to buy the bus ticket and charge to room directly. Then Hirota (again) asked if we enjoyed the aquarium. This really surprised me as she could remember us so clearly. Check out was quick and we managed to get on the bus back to Naha without delay.

A hotel can be a good one if the service is great even room was average. A great hotel is the one with both great product and service. Ritz Carlton Okinawa definitely deserves a credit here.
Though the chance of staying again is quite low, but this property leaves me a great impression about Ritz Carlton which I love to try other properties when traveling in the future (if I can afford it XD)

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room facing the bay view which was a delight to enjoy the view in the morning from...

This trip was to celebrate our 23rd anniversary and my birthday. I cannot say enough about the staff of this resort. They went above the level of service to ensure that our stay was one we would remember. Management had a tray of desserts in our room to welcome us and send their well wishes. The spa made me a card, the Italian restaurant decorated our table. You have to make reservations in order to eat dinner here, but that is because in Japan, restaurants are not the same size as in western restaurants. The food was very good in both the Teppanyaki and the Italian restaurant. The room was beautiful, they had both an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. This is most definitely a 5 plus star hotel. The bed was awesome. My only downside was the other guests were very loud while walking to their rooms, you could hear parents talking loudly to their children in the hallway.

The family spent five days at the resort and had a superb time. Rooms are decent size, very clean and hotel staff are overly helpful about everything. Teppanyaki restaurant was outstanding, we ate there twice. Situated on the golf course, if you are a golfer you will be most pleased. Spa and pool facilities were also outstanding.

The only very minor point for improvement, given the number of kids staying in the hotel with parents, the hotel would be well served to have a kids room and broader children's menu.

Overall, fantastic place to stay and look forward to another visit!

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and daughter after we'd spent three days staying at a small guesthouse on Akajima to the south of Okinawa.
The contrast between that experience and this luxury hotel was very enjoyable.
First impressions were not ideal when our reserved king bed was not available and we were booked into a twin room - the first response to this was to try and upsell us to a premiere room, which is not what you expect from a hotel in this class.
After a short wait, a perfect king room was found for us after all.
The room was not far off the best I've experienced and reflects the fact that this is a new hotel - furnishing was beautiful and the supplied items were thoughtful and useful.
Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of the best quality Japanese and Western dishes in a lovely setting. The hotel throughout has huge windows which open to make the most of the available space and blue skies.
We ordered room service on one evening which was a poor experience since the food was late and rather ordinary for the price. This was balanced out by an enjoyable lunch in the lobby lounge and the aforementioned excellent breakfasts.
Overall, with a couple of small improvements this would have been faultless and as it was, we still enjoyed a memorable and relaxing stay.
We were contacted by management after the stay to apologise for the small errors, which was appreciated.
Recommended.

We went without kids, and had the best best time. We travel alot, and found this Ritz to have the best service around. We were able to use the beach resort at no cost, and were glad to get back to the less formal golf resort. The healthclub, pool, and golf course were spectacular at this hotel. Also the restaurant at the hotel was fabulous with great food, entertainment, and great service.Especially Kohei Makino showed us great hospitality mind. We will definitely go back again.
