Very disappointed. The place is not as good as I've expected it to be.

It's not as bad as it's next door neighbor (Tropical fruit farm) but it's still a waste of time.

Pineapple Park was a fun find for the kids and they enjoyed cruising through a farm tour in a Pineapple Car. The fee is ¥500 for adults and half that for elementary age kids. The fee pays for an automated tour in a golf cart, English translation, and a sample of pineapple farming in Okinawa. A little bit cheesy but it was still fun. At the end of the tour, there are a few giant bowls of fresh pineapple for eating. The music that was repeating began to get on my nerves but the tour was enjoyable. There is, as always, a souvenir shop where you can buy all things pineapple and sample pineapple wines. Additionally, attached to the Pineapple Park is a huge gallery of shells of all varieties. This was probably the most interesting part of the park for me. For my wife, the highlight was the pineapple softcream. Delicious! The park really wants your money and there is no shortage of employees trying to sell you something overpriced.

Pineapple Park is one of the most well known destinations here on Okinawa, however it is more hype then it is "attraction". The main attraction is a short (about 5 minute) ride in a go-cart which is retrofitted with a pineapple on top. The ride will take you through a variety of tropical plants as well as pineapples. Not only does your go-cart drive itself but it narrates the trip in a language of your choice (English, Korean, Chinese or Japanese). After your ride you will have the chance to see a very interesting collection of shells from around the world.

The rest of your experience is walking through shop after shop selling a variety of pineapple related (and a number of non-pineapple related) goods. About 90% of these items can be found elsewhere on Okinawa but a rare few I found to be unique to the park itself to include pineapple perfume and facial scrub made out of pineapple charcoal. Unfortunately the prices were relatively high.

In a nutshell this is an attraction where you're basically paying to shop.

It is a cheerful place good for children. First we ride on the pineapple buggy round the the place but commentary is in Japanese. At one point a photo was taken for us during the ride and this photo is complimentary. After that one can taste the pineapple. Then we went through the shell collection and souvenir shops. Finally we are at the shop selling all kinds of pineapple products such as wine, cookies, chocolates and vinegar. One could not help but end up buying some items.

The pineapple park was a lot of fun for a few hours. You get to ride around in little golf carts that are shaped like pineapple characters. Unfortunately the recording that tells you about how pineapples grow is in all Japanese.

I learned how to cut a pineapple properly here. It was really just a fun outing to learn about a product that is grown everywhere in the area.
