“Home stay style of accommodation which was very comfortable.”

I stayed her 1 night on the way to Naoshima. By prior arrangement, my two companions and I were met at the Uno station and driven to the accommodation. It is possible to walk there, but it would be a too far with luggage, and the last part of the walk is up a steep slope. Our host also drove us to the ferry the next day after serving us a generous breakfast. I would like to stay here again.

Our family of five from Sydney spent two nights at Uno Slope House in early January. We loved staying in a family home and Hiro was a wonderful host. We enjoyed being picked up and dropped off from the station, the generous pancake breakfast, getting directions and timetables for a visit to Naoshima, the use of bicycles and washing machine, and great conversations with Hiro. Our rooms were warm and comfortable, and the house is filled with beautiful ceramics. Thanks to Max and Hiro for a great experience.

we both had a great time with hiro in uno slope house. It felt like visiting family and boy did we have a good time. Hiro helped us heaps. He waited for us in the station, sorted our bags, directed us to the island and when we got back, picked us up in the restaurant. The experience was just like visiting an old friend in japan.

Max & Hiro are welcome to our place in Melbourne anytime.

I stayed at Uno Slope House with my husband and son on Dec 30-31 and couldn't me happier about the experience. Max was quick to respond the email on availability and very helpful with suggestions and whereabouts. Our room was big, beautiful and cozy and everything was super clean and organized.Hiro was extremely warm and helpful and his breakfast is simply delicious, not to mention meticulously prepared. We really enjoyed our conversations with him while sitting around the kitchen table!
If you are going to visit the museums at Naoshima and Teshima islands this is the place to stay. Highly recommend it! Thank you Max and Hiro!

I booked in on the same day and Max couldn't have been more helpful. He sorted me out with a bike, ferry timetable and delicious (and cheap) local restaurant recommendations (along with amazing stories of the documentaries he's been making, the local film festival he's set up and wonderful life stories ). I couldn't have felt more welcome! Thank you Max, for an amazing and truely memorable stay; I've recommended Uno Slope to everyone heading to Naoshima!

We tried booking Uno Slope House a couple of years ago but they were booked out! This year, we managed to get in a bit earlier and I'm so glad that we did. Our host Hiro was absolutely lovely and the house is quaint and immaculately clean. I've travelled through Japan six times now and Naoshima and Teshima are amongst my favourite places by far! Hiro is the most genuine and helpful host and delivered far beyond anything we expected. THANK YOU!! :} xxxx

We stayed 2 nights in November 2012 at the Uno Slope House. We used it as our base to visit the Museums at Naoshima and Teshima islands. The Slope House is located about a 15 min walk to the Ferry port from where you can catch a ferry to one of the Islands for a visit to the museums there.

The service was very good and Hiro, who looks after the guests, is a very charming host who makes a great breakfast.

It is a bit pricey for the size of the room (we were sleeping in something that looked more like somebody's private study) but the charm of the personnel and quality of the breakfast makes up up for what the room lacked.
