You immediately feel "at home" at uno port inn. The people are really nice, and the place is located perfectly - very close to the railway station and the ferry port, yet still a quiet location. The rooms are traditional, tha bathrooms separate but really clean and modern. The cafe is a true "bijoux" with gluten free granola if you wish (which was perfect for me). Overall a true insider's tip. Can only recommend.

I had a wonderful experience at this funky inn, which is a mix of Japanese serenity and American hippie vibes. Unique! The owner was there and was very welcoming, as were the wonderful female employees. I speak Japanese so we mainly conversed in that language, but everyone speaks English as well. Very fun place to stay and very convenient to the ferry and to a great hot springs.

If you are looking for a small hotel with friendly staff and GREAT COFFEE as a base for exploring the art islands of Teshima and Naoshima this is perfect place for you.
We arrived early in the morning and received a wonderful welcome, had a bite to eat in the cafe and checked in shortly after - we felt right at home. Our room had very comfy traditional Japanese futons and decor and was spotlessly clean. The western style breakfast was simple and tasty and the coffee was fab. This hotel is located right in town near the train station and the ferry terminal so traveling without a car was easy.
Thanks Max and crew for a great stay.
Warm regards Toni & Bruno

Great location near the port with plenty to eat nearby. Also pretty convenient for the onsen too :) Rooms are clean and simple, we stayed in a tatami style room with bathrooms down the hall. There was one designated for our room. Everything was really nicely kept and the cafe downstairs was charming.

Nice location at foot walk of the two, boat and ferry, which go in the islands.
Max and his team are so kind and warm and also speak English.
We were both in Japanese and Western style rooms. Both are confortable according to western standards. Rooms and bathrooms (new) are very clean.
Don’t miss the delicious breakfast served at the cafe of the inn which has a terrace. And other home made dishes like burgers, salad bowls and cakes.
I highly recommend Uno Port Inn.
