We visited to try the onsen here, which is open to the public from 12 noon to 4pm, otherwise it is reserved for hotel guests.
Men’s onsen on first floor has hot and cold pools, while women’s onsen on second floor has only hot pools when we went, but there was a “rooibos tea” hot pool in the women’s onsen! If you believe tea is not only good for drinking but soaking in as well, good to try.
View of the mountains very relaxing, and water temperature can ease all your aches and pains away after a day of wandering, eating and shopping around the pretty Yufuin area. Reception staff ably welcomes guests who speak English and the fee to enjoy the onsen is quite cheap. We always enjoy onsens on our trips to Japan, and this one was no exception.More
