Hotel Kinsuien
Ranked #3 of 10 Hotels / Ryokan in Saiki
Reviewed February 23, 2014

Although we requested double-bed rooms, we got extremely small single bed rooms (we did not make the reservations on our own). The rooms looked very dirty, the carpet was full with stains, the ventilation looked as if there was mould in it. There was not really enough space for any luggage. We did not get any complimentary water. The breakfast was ok, but not really worth the money. There are not many hotels in Saiki and this one is supposed to be the best. So if this is really the best, I suggest you book a room somewhere near Saiki, if necessary even one hour away from it. The town is the countryside of Japan and has really nothing to offer, not even a good night sleep. Extremely disappointed!

its probably the biggest hotel you will get in Saiki
rooms are crumpy and small, Japanese style, yet they have big tv, desk to work, table to sit, full size bathroom, and enough space to put your luggage... Given that everything is small and tiny in japan, in this small saiki city, the hotel is excellent.
breakfast - Japanese or western, your choice... Mine was always the Japanese style, but you need to give it more than average time to complete it, as its PLENTY and small Japanese dishes are great (always the star of the day! and they were EXCELENT!!! every day)
Night time, dinner is very nice, and if you are lucky that the beer garden is open on the opposite building, you get to pay by the hour and drink + eat as much as you like, very sweet!!!!

Mama san bar on the same street is always a sailor/shipyard place for nice champon noodles and sushi, and lots of saki and soju! Every one loves her (including me), that's why we call her mama san :)

location just under the mountain is great. Every day after work, you have to walk next to the river, and the nice and calm mountains to get there, very relaxing and calming. By the time you get to the hotel, you forget you were at work...

anyways, nuff said, don't hope too much from the rooms, its worker's rooms, but that's the way most hotels are in small locations like these... but the experience makes up for it

the ladies are reception don't talk too much English, but you get around, and as all Japanese people, they are always kind, courteous, and try to help whatever way they can. They even have free lending of bikes and umbrellas, much needed when going around in the city.

internet is very fast, but trying European destination sites are slow to load - but this is asia wide thing, too many hops to asia.

have fun in japan - my favourite destination

Room Tip: try the Japanese breakfast!!!! niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
